It’s also important to be mindful of small sample sizes. A couple of Saad’s goals have been total flukes. He’s not going to score goals at this rate every playoffs

True but he's also a kind of player that we don't have elsewhere.

If the Avs lose they'll have to change the recipe. Being fast is fun and all but looking at the teams left and recent cup winners, that's not what is winning you cups.

Pretty sure they posted Saad’s playoff numbers. He produces in the postseason.

Avs just need to realize he’s not a driver on any given line, great complementary talent, but he needs great linemates and they need to be dialed in for him to produce.

Sure looks like Jake DeBrusk is the latest guy set to let the door hit his ass on the way outta Boston...any interest? Had a DISASTROUS season this year but he has all the makings of a good two-way player. Two years ago he was phenomenal, I can't imagine he's declined that rapidly since then.
It doesn't help that he was playing against the guy they should have taken and that guy looked like a superstar in this series.

Never change, Boston.

Thoughts on Travis Konecny? Feel like that's a guy Philadelphia might move if AV gets his way. 20+ goal guy that skates tremendously and is scrappy as hell. Not a good season in 20-21 though.

Well if there’s one way to ensure a Stanley Cup it’s snagging a Philly castoff. Just ask LA, Washington, or Chicago.

Duchene only played 8 playoff games with the Avs but I thought this was funny given their respective tenures.

I hope we keep the guy. Fire Kadri into the sun, lose Burakovsky, but keep Saad, the only player on second line to both play and produce.

this is imo the point of difference between us and vegas and why we may lose - when our first lines cancel out, they still have Marchesseault, Karlsson, Smith to feast on our bottom liners, while we have Saad and thats it.
We need Newhook to fulfill on his promise and do it as soon as possible.

Careful, you’ll get Kingslayer drooling over the prospect of possibly signing Hall if he doesn’t stay with the Bruins. Still looking for that SC so he may as well try the Avs next.

I'm of the mindset that a fluke goal happens here and there, but when you're consistently scoring fluke goals... they aren't fluke goals.

7 goals in 9 games for us this year. 25 playoff goals in his career. He gets himself into greasy spots, puts pucks on net, battles for second opportunities, and doesn't take a shift off.

I really want him re-signed.

Tell Seattle they can have Burakovsky for free in the expansion draft and give Saad his money.

Can Seattle just take all of Graves, Bura, and Compher... the cap space would be a net positive.

The Kings possibly not being interested could be significant when it comes to his market. The part about the Sabres looking to move on might just be a case of them trying to save face since they know he's not coming back.

I would hate it but also kinda admire it. NHL teams are way too conservative so seeing a team say screw it and make big trades every season is a nice change. They already tried to dump Pacioretty after acquiring him and then traded a favourite in Schmidt too so they don't really care what people think.

Sakic has done a good job here obviously. But it would be nice for him to make a huge move at some point. Be aggressive and fill some of the glaring holes we have.
