Insane that the Avs didn't add a bigger piece at the deadline. Most people knew they needed a centre, and they opted for a 4th liner in Soderberg. That's what I'd call a half measure, and the Avs are now paying for it.

f*** Burakovsky, expose him and trade something to SEA to ensure they select him then use that cap space to re-sign Saad.

Then do whatever is necessary to rid us of Graves, Compher, and Donskoi

I'm confused how Compher isn't in the gotta go category. He'd be #1 on the list tbh.

Nemeth and Soda aren't being brought back. Graves still has value around the league and would be fine if he was actually playing #5/6 minutes instead of #4 minutes.

Compher doesn't actively cost us games with dumb plays, but the amount of scoring chances and plays that die on Compher's stick is almost as bad.

Graves shouldn't be playing 21 minutes a game, he'd look a hell of a lot better if he was playing 14-16 minutes a game. If I could choose which one Seattle picks, it's Compher.

Sakic had Forsberg/Yelle/Drury during his prime helping him out.....how does he not understand the need for good C help.
 
The C depth wouldn't be nearly the issue it is if Kadri hadn't made that hit and Parros didn't throw the book at him because he hates him.

MacKinnon - Kadri playing like he did last year - Jost playing like he did this year would have been pretty good C depth.

Even with Kadri not producing I think they would have had a much better lineup with him at 2C for this series.

Except your scenario requires time travel. Kadri has been rancid for much of this season.

Even Kadri not producing and playing like he did this year could have given the Avs a much better shot at limiting the chances for Karlsson and Marchessault.

I think he would have relished that matchup like he has in the past when given a matchup assignment.

Avs definitely need to move on from Ryan Graves this offseason. I think tonight’s game solidified that. We’ll see what happens but it’s a real shame injuries necessitated him playing a second pairing role when he should’ve been knocked down to the third pairing. Or worse.

So dumbass Kadri got suspended and now we don't have any other center than f***ing JT Compher again.

So yeah, I blame Sakic for a large part of this mess.

Yeah, Bednar has gotten some shit luck in the playoffs. Injuries and suspensions have left him without key players in both playoff runs.

I’ll wait until the end of the series before deciding on where I’m at with Bednar.

The lineup choices on defence are hurting this team enough for me to consider a different bench boss though.

Don't like any of those contracts, EJ is easily the worst. 6M for a guy who cannot be trusted to stay healthy.

Landeskog is the big question. He absolutely should not get a 6+ year contract with a high cap hit. The Avs were fools pushing them into a corner and not dealing with the contract sooner. Either they give into his demands or lose the guy for nothing.
 
Burakovsky played 12 minutes last night, holy cow. Talk about a player on life support right now. Wouldn't surprise me at all to see him scratched next game. He's been atrocious.
 
Given how useless Burakovsky has been and Kadri’s suspension there’s no combination of our roster that I can put together that looks championship worthy tbh

I’ve said it all year, Sakic decided it was okay to have an entire 2nd line full of remarkably streaky players. Not just offensively streaky, but their ability to be positively involved in the play is hit or miss.

Saad has really turned it around after an adjustment period, but Bura and Kadri are showing why they were acquired so cheaply.
