This roster gets us in the playoffs:
Ai kopi brown
Kempe vilardi carter
Enforcer lizzo wags
Tonka jad moore

Doughty anderson
Bornfot roy
Clague strand

Peterson
Quick

That enforcer settles things down. Let's the skill guys play. Allows Macd to sit.

Tuesday: LA Kings Practice Notes, McLellan Quotes, Roster Changes

On the play of Amadio over the past few games in Minnesota...
We did like what we saw, particularly the second game, but at that point we made some line changes. Amadio is a type of player that I think sometimes he needs to be used with the right wingers. Sometimes he’s a victim of our decisions, our choices that we make. I think when he was reunited with Kempe and Grundstrom, there’s a little more playmaking ability there and we saw that come out in him. At this point in his career, he has to find a way now to to take his opportunities and to produce with them. Every now and then, he has to get on the score sheet, especially with his mindset and his skill, and try to alleviate some of the scoring pressure from others on the on the team. He did get some power play time, as well. We’re counting on him and I know he’s betting on himself, so that’s a good thing and let’s see where it goes.

2020-2021 16 GP 0 Goals 2 Assists 2Points -2 +/-

I already miss JAD and what we brought on the ice for the limited time he was on the big club this year. :boredom:

What enforcer is going to make this team into a playoff contender? Ryan Reaves?

I'd love to have a Tom Wilson type in the lineup, but how many of those types are out there and available?

this, the modern enforcer needs to be quick and be able to contribute. Lucic is not coming in and pulling LA into a playoff spot.

ok, well... maybe.

That's a lot of rookies.
Vilardi
Tonka
JAD

and 4 on defense
Strand
Bjornfot
Anderson
Clague

Plus a few more with less than 2 full years of experience
Roy - 110 games
Walker - 120 games presuming he's the #7
Moore - 87 career games

Edit: And if Petersen is the #1, he has 30 career games.

also all this talk about an enforcer is that not what MacD is supposed to provide?

Exactly, and more often than not he's been a liability. The Kings with Clifford in the lineup didn't really improve their chances. I liked him for what he provided and he sacrificed his body for the team, but the Kings have always had these types who made zero impact in the end result.

I'm all for physical hockey and making the Kings tougher to play against, but not at the expense of inserting stiffs who can't make any plays taking up roster spots. They don't need a John Zeiler or Raitis Ivanans or Kevin Westgarth, but they sure as hell could use another Ian Laperriere who can breathe some life and provide a spark. But as I stated, how many of those types are even available. I can't think of many.

I just don't think the answer to the Kings' woes is going to come in the form of Boko Imama or Kurtis MacDermid.

He can provide that but he is not that good of a defender. He gets beat to the outside a lot. Simply cannot defend. I think he'd be better suited on the wing imo.

I think we all figured this

Mario Ferraro re: spending time with JT last offseason:

22. What was the funniest thing you saw Thornton do?
“I don’t know why, but he loves to cut grass. And the whole week I was there, he was talking about cutting his lawn.”"

Joe Thornton is awesome on so many levels.

How scrappy is Virtanen?

wouldn't call him scrappy but he can hit, and he can score. I would rather have him then a guy like Bennett. Not sure what the Canucks would want, or what I would want to pay as I think I would rather LA play the guys they have and grow from within.
