I don’t disagree but who else would you play there ?
Back to my original post... I think they shopping list is 3 players long.

There’s too many holes to cover and we can ill afford throwing away futures that don’t have medium to long term positive impact on the team. You get a building block, outer core guy who can grow, that would be an acceptable add. You add a bandaid that walks in July, we suddenly have less assets for 2026 and beyond.
That’s fine but with so little trade capital it will be hard to pick up three impactful players. The players the Leafs have to trade are not highly valued. What are you suggesting they can give up to acquire three good players.Back to my original post... I think they shopping list is 3 players long.
I wouldn’t consider it like a normal the third line. He will get a lot of ozone starts, PP time and some time with Matthews or Tavares. He’ll probably be moved around a bit and still play 20 minutes a night. Depth scoring is a real issue for this team and they’ve shown to be too easy to shutdown in the playoffs which is what really counts more than individual scoring stats.Yes, he can drive his own line, probably better than anyone else on the team, but he's still the leading goal scorer on the team, and it seems silly to have him on the third line.

They’d have to put players on waivers and send them to the Marlies or move money out and get trading partners to eat AAV coming back. A lot of things have to right for them to make it happen.I don't know how they're going to acquire 1... nevermind 3.
From a cap space perspective, they've basically got Jani Hakanpaa's $1.47m. They don't even have enough space to bring Jarnkrok off LTIR if he is indeed going to play.
Unless somebody like Tavares is going to go on LTIR from the deadline to the playoffs, they don't seem to have a way.

Every year people moan about the cap, and then every year the leafs acquire players. This season will be no different.Losing Fraser Minten would suck but because ROR has term I'd do it.
If Brandon Priniham has taught us anything it's that there is ALWAYS a way
