I must of totally missed this, so I apologize if this is a stupid question....but where the hell is FAGEMO? I thought he was supposed to be the surprise 'new kid on the block' this year?
He's a 3rd liner in the SHL. Not sure what the hype is about. He has some potential as a shooter, and he had a great WJC last year as a 19 year old, but he'll need to show he can play the North American game on the smaller rink. He'll get a look, maybe this year, but he's only 20.

The cost of maintaining a development team to support the variety of windows devices is greatly outweighed by the subscription revenue that those users have historically been willing to pay. The fact is that users who have windows devices and are willing to pay are also likely to own a device that is secure and can handle a 1080p stream.

I’m not aware of any major paid sub streamer who offers a 1080p stream on any PC device (win, Mac, Linux).

This would be relevant if the NHL hadn't already optimized a secure app for Xbox. The Xbox OS is almost identical to base Windows 10 architecture. The development has already happened.

Most major streaming apps have accessible W10 PC versions. The NHL is just lazy, and too beholden to blackout laws.

Xbox has a powerful gpu, which isn’t guaranteed across PCs. The app providers risk poor store ratings if they service PC devices and the users experience issues. It’s easier and cheaper to avoid. PC web browsers are a similar expense, so you see less / poorer support for them as well.

Sent down to Ontario. Will probably play most the season. Guess McLellan didn't feel the same way we did. He will be up soon enough!

Something eerie about the last two games

- 4-3 OT losses to Minnesota
- 1-0 deficits in the first
- 3 consecutive goals to go up 3-1
- one of those goals off the rush with Carter and Athanasiou. Athanasiou scores driving to the net off of a Carter assist.
- one of those goals, Kempe is at the goalline battling for the puck and somehow doesn't get a piece of it, goes in anyway
- blow it in the 3rd
- OT where Kaprizov makes the Kings look like children

That empty net post was just cosmic.

Problem with capping ice time is in the moment, coaches still want to win the game. When the only centers behind Kopitar are Vilardi, Lizotte, and Amadio, Kopitar is going to get minutes. Same for Doughty.

Stay with me here on planet Earth McLellan.

Play the kids if they earn the ice time with their effort.

The Kings are not making the playoffs.

...and all three are better than a Kopitar that can't move his legs.

That full Vilardi interview: Gabe Vilardi on Faceoffs, Penalties, and FaceTime with Clifford

Some total gems:

"On the confidence coach Todd McLellan has shown in him thus far
In the last game, I was terrible at faceoffs in the first and second period, yet he kept throwing me out there. I appreciate it – no, I don’t appreciate it, I have to do better. He’s expecting me to win those draws and I have to do better. It’s nice. I want to win. I want to be on the the ice and I want to help the team win, in whatever way that is, whether it’s winning a faceoff or scoring goals."

"On the biggest difference between being a full-time NHL player compared to previous levels he’s played
I think practicing hard every day. In junior it’s completely different. You can go out there and — I don’t want to say screw around, but you can half-ass it almost and you’re still like the best player out there. Here, if you’re not working hard in practice, you’re wasting your time, you’re wasting your teammates time, and it’s not good for anyone. I think bringing it every day, that’s something I’m going to learn throughout this year and moving forward throughout my career. I have to come to the rink with a plan to get better every day and I try to do that and I have to keep doing that."
