We can definitely use a third/taxi squad goalie so that Ingham/Villalta can get playing time in the minors. I think the ideal scenario is for EDM to claim Dell and put Grosenick on waivers for LAK to re-claim, but Dell might not last 'til EDM. So... claim Dell and keep 3 goalies on the active roster?

Edit: As Mayor noted, signing Berube to an NHL deal is an option, but some additional depth at G would be nice...

I wonder if LA and EDM could make a trade. LA claims Dell since they have first pick then flip him to EDM for Grosenick and a late pick.

In that scenario, Grosenick can go to the Kings taxi without waivers again, as we were the original team that waived him.
 
So Grosenick flies up to EDM and is placed in 10 or 14 day quarantine. During that time, Oilers pick up Dell, who doesn’t need to quarantine and they waive Gros. LA picks him back up and he's back in quarantine. Sad scenario,

Wonder if he gets paid his AHL or NHL salary for that month?

He technically never left an active NHL roster.
 
I'll venture a guess that the league might amend the rules allowing a waivers exemption for the taxi squad goalies.
 
I wonder if we are going to claim Dell after losing our third goalie? I feel it's pretty likely.

To be clear I wasn't worried at all; it was more just straight shock that out of all the god damn players passing through waivers Edmonton jacked a goalie that hasn't even played for us :laugh:

But as someone else mentioned that's clearly a glitch in the taxi squad waiver rules / goalie requirements.

Seems the most reasonable course of action, allows Villalta to play in the AHL. Of course we wouldn't taxi squad Dell as that would require waivers, so he'd just have to sit in the 23rd roster spot. But once Frk is healthy, in order to activate him we'd have to move someone else to the taxi squad. Per capfriendly, our only waiver exempt options are Vilardi, Lizotte, Anderson, or Clague. So let's assume we activate Frk and taxi squad Clague. Now we are only carrying 6 D but with Clague and Bjornfot on the taxi and with the team. If a Dman gets a knock and has to miss a game, they either need to go on the IR or someone has to get waived and moved to the taxi squad anyway so that we can get Clague/Bjornfot into the game. Altogether, a bit of an annoying situation.

Here is the plan ...

... we snag him but don’t really care to ever use him.

He packs his bags, gets a nose-swab, then on a plane to LA from Canada and straight into nose-drilling quarantine for two weeks.

Then, after Grosenick finally clears his quarantine and the Oil put him on waivers to the Taxi squad, we claim Grosenick back and can put him in quarantine for 14 days.

Then we put Dell on waivers just as Grosenick clears quarantine ...

A sinister GM could have fun with this.

NHL could solve all of this if they just optimized their official NHL.tv app for PC. As of now, the app works great on phones, gaming systems, tablets, Roku, etc., but it is unavailable on Windows 10 PC.

As I've said elsewhere, I believe this is a conscious (absurd) decision on behalf of the NHL. VPNs are very easy to use on PC.

The cost of maintaining a development team to support the variety of windows devices is greatly outweighed by the subscription revenue that those users have historically been willing to pay. The fact is that users who have windows devices and are willing to pay are also likely to own a device that is secure and can handle a 1080p stream.

I’m not aware of any major paid sub streamer who offers a 1080p stream on any PC device (win, Mac, Linux).
 
I must of totally missed this, so I apologize if this is a stupid question....but where the hell is FAGEMO? I thought he was supposed to be the surprise 'new kid on the block' this year?
