As opposed to all the other teams?

All I'm saying is that Khristich, Tsyplakov, Yachmenev line has looked *really* fantastic during training camp. They've all found a lot of motivation playing with each other and they really expect to have a huge season this year.

Yes, as opposed to all but 6 other teams...remember these guys didn't even get a crack at the playoffs. They've been off since friggin March. There was no 'return' to play for them, no summer tourneys.

I appreciate the cynicism but yes, the Kings are even in a different spot than most of the league, and this is the first fully extended break Kopitar and Doughty for example have had in their careers. They've had 10 months to recover, skate, get in shape. That's different.

Been worrying about what to do about watching games with DISH not carrying FSW/PRIME. I can watch on the FSW app with my parents' DTV credentials but it is a horrible experience unless watching live or once the game is put up for replay maybe an hour after it ends.

Start times announced today and I am once again reminded that I am an idiot: the new divisions mean we are basically rolling "home game" start times all year, at least during the week. I'll be home to watch live.

Now I'm very excited for the season to start.

I have dish also and what I do is buy the NHL individual team package and use unloator to trick the location.

I always thought he looked like Davy Jones of the Monkees.

Maybe head on, but I only recognize him from the side

Is anyone worried that the Doughty-Maata and Roy-Anderson pairs are a bit soft?

Should Kings have made a run at Edmundson or Hammonic?

Edmundson got 4 years, 3.5 million a year. Hamonic is on a PTO now but coming off a 3.8m/year deal. You want to give one of those guys money and term to clog up space when they aren't a distinct upgrade?

Doughty's not soft. Roy isn't soft. Anderson is young, but not soft. It would have been nice to have some beef besides MacDermid back there, but grit that can skate without being a liability is a valuable NHL commodity, and why would it come to LA for any remotely reasonable price?

If the Kings were going to start playing games with results that mattered, it might be more of a concern. The NHL also isn't even the league it was in 2010 in terms of physicality, so unless you can get an O'Donnell type defenseman on the cheap, why hand Edmundson a penny to come to the Kings in 2021?

Group B:
Forwards (8):
Anderson-Dolan, Dudas, Eyssimont, Fagemo, Imama, Kupari, Madden, Thomas
Defensemen (5): Brickley, Durzi, Moverare, Phillips, Strand
Goaltenders (3): Grosenick, Ingham, Villalta
Injured (2): Hults, Sodergran

Does anyone know how Kupari is looking? I fully expect him to start in the AHL but I’m interested to know how he’s moving his feet...

If anyone didn’t see it TM was very clear that players in group B were not out of the running for a roster spot. They needed to do the split early to allow systems and special teams work. He said that if anyone that is in group B thinks they are effectively cut the ‘shame on them’.

FWIW, I think that it probably is an indicator of where players start although some guys will possibly drop down if the WJC guys make an impression. I think at this point JAD and Fagemo are probably the only guys that have a chance of moving up, unless injuries hit. Very much guesswork on my part, based on lots of assumptions.

With Luff and Grundstrom subject to waivers - I assume they will make it. The forward group is already crowded so don't know the Kings would carry more than these 2 extra forwards and risk sitting a young player when they can play in the AHL.

A few little notes here and there but nothing much re: his skating. May be worth asking The Mayor or @All The Kings Men directly?

I agree Grundstrom won't be waived, not so sure about Luff though. I see him as a Taxi Squad candidate.

The only people allowed at practice are PR and Zach Dooley. Any updates anybody is getting is from emails sent out from practice or from zoom calls for media availability. My guess is Kupari will play in the AHL.

EDIT: McLellan is made available every day along with two players. So far there have been no repeat players and as far as I know every call is posted on the Kings website and on their YouTube page.

Much appreciated!

Don't know why the practice thing didn't click with me  still shaking off the fog...

I am under the impression that being added to or recalled from the Taxi Squad requires waivers (for those players that need to clear waivers)

Lizotte was a sneaky good player last year. If he can score goals in the low double digits in a normal 82 game schedule, he'll be an absolute steal. I mean he's already looking like a steal of a free agent signing as is.
