Pinto continues to grow as a player as he matures & is showing how good he can be with more experience & consistency. IMO both Norris & Pinto have top line C potential & both are very good defensively, very good at faceoffs & complete 200' players.

He looks like a completely different player out there now.
So great to have him back.
The comfort level is way up. Until a few games ago he looked like he was unsure and 2nd guessing himself at times. All part of development I'm sure and that is where some good veterans on the team can help behind the scenes.

Two games in a row that Pinto has come out in OT to take the face off and then gets off the ice. Like Giroux used to do at times. Even taking a couple of key face offs to end the games like Norris used to do. And Sens have a pretty good face off win %. He is becoming that key 3rd liner you need. Although he had 1 more minute of ice time than Norris last night. He's always noticeable. Hopefully that start of the year slump was character building and he begins to find a groove now.

His net drive with the puck lately is amazing. Gets body position with his feet, shields the puck with his body and stick on the defenders stick. Then gets his heavy shot off from a dangerous spot.

Great stuff lately by Shane. He was not able to engage physically like that a couple weeks ago.

He’s a force, so hard to knock off the puck when he’s going.

IMO only Brady can match it, and Pinto in some respects uses it more wisely.

He scored a goal with a 6'2 200 pound guy or whoever was leaning on him heavily and he masked the puck and scored a bullet in one go.

People don't realize what a force Pinto can really be.

Made his line better and relevant. Back to being a line driver. Hope Amadio is ok as they seem to have meshed

This was a funny interview. Lol’d at the team wondering how Norris got fined for diving before Timmy haha

Pinto needs to chill, knowing our injury luck, forgetting to take off a skateguard could result in a season long injury lol

What is the feeling of norris vs pinto?

Norris is beating him by a few points but also has a few more games and gets way more pp time. Is the belief pinto is gonna be similar to norris or better/worse? Both playing the pk and both are pretty solid on the dot.

Pinto is a better 5v5 player imo, he can drive a line because he’s so strong on the puck.

Norris is the better finisher and he’s clutch. I think he has the more natural offensive instincts.

Outside of those elements they are pretty similar imo. Amazing on the PK, great at faceoffs, both good skaters, high IQ, neither have great vision.

If Pinto improves his finishing significantly he’ll probably be a better player because he creates more. Conversely if Norris gets stronger and wins more puck battles I’d probably give him the edge because I think that’s about the only thing that holds him back.

That’s a long way of saying idk.

It's fun because imo Greig belongs in the conversation too. All three skilled two way gamers.

I think Greig's IQ is his weak point, excellent on the forecheck, actually has good vision, and very fast, but not super skilled, nor very smart.

I don't see that at all, Grieg has a terrific IQ, and has very good skills. Grieg is really good at everything, he's just not elite at anything other than tenacity.

Pinto might become an elite shut down C, he's so good and honestly gets overlooked because of all the other good stories this year. This is the best center depth Ottawa has had ever, and Pinto is a huge part of that.

Pinto can create more, Norris finishes more. Both are good defensively and are not afraid to battle for the puck. Coin toss for me, but I lean towards Pinto because he's healthier/has less injury concerns
