7th best record over the last 3 years. 6th most regulation wins. 9th best offense. 9th best defense. 2nd most playoff games. 2nd most playoff wins. 4th best GF in the playoffs of teams that have played 30+ games. 2nd best GA of teams that have played 30+ games. There might be a cliff, but now is their time. Vegas is not only relevant, but also good on the ice. This is the roster you invest in. The cliff comes for everyone either way.

I'm not saying it's the wrong thing to do, because much like we were, they are already this far in, the key is gonna be knowing when to stop. I wonder if they will throw their hands up in 2023, when the rest of the world sees that it's over?

Yea, but since the only events Staples Center has hosted in 6+ months were the Emmys (no crowd), and a boxing match (no fans), and I can't imagine they've made much money from those ads shot in the building either, point is, I wouldn't expect them to spend much.
I don't give a rats ass about their financial woes. They own a professional team. If they didn't have dead money counting against the cap they'd be under the cap floor. They were vetted by the NHL to buy the team. Not every business can operate off of profit every year.

I do not want the King's to go dropping money on top free agents but the team needs some vets so as to not stunt the development of the youth.

Kyle Clifford liked my tweet about returning to LA.

Please come back.

I'd guess they'll stop when most teams do; when forced to by circumstance. They either bottom out with the old guys they have signed forever, or guys start to want to leave.

They do have a lot of contracts though. They can already fill both the Kings and Reign rosters. Not that they might not sign another Frk type option, but guys like Amadio and Luff are pretty much the warm bodies that any cheap vet free agents would be. Moore. We probably know what those guys are as players, and they're not part of the core. Probably were never going to be, even if they were completely insulated the last couple years.

It would at least be kind of interesting if we saw another 2007 free agent class for the Kings. Something to talk about. They just have so many guys already though.

blake has spent enough on 4th liners that can' t score goals

Kyle Clifford is statistically a top-end 4th liner surpassed only by the Isles' legendary 4th line.

May not bring him back but that's not why.

How many vets do you need? We've got 1C, 1RW, 1D, 1G covered...and just picked up an experienced LHD.

As much as I would want him around our prospects, there really is no room, hell I wasn't even expecting us to have interest in Kahun, which is an interesting development. In the end, Clifford will likely join our staff ala Greene and Stoll.

I've seen some chatter over teams claiming Tyler Johnson knowing Seattle probably wants him, while maybe true, I don't think the Kings are in a position to need to do that, I won't lose any sleep over Lizotte/Wagner/Määttä

100%. And I feel bad for their current GM he's inherited Yzerman's absolute mess of NTC's.

It ended up working. Give the NTC/NMC to take a little less(but get Florida taxes), that allows for whatever, 1 or 2 extra good players on a roster, and there's your championship depth. Plus they had some good ELC's. That's how you end up as one of the deeper teams of the last decade.

And now they're going to have a Chicago Blackhawks like sell off. Let's see if they can rebound and still win multiple cups.

I would guess no, just because they're older than Chi in 2010. They can't not win for a couple years and come back with another wave. They're closer to the Kings in that regard. If TB is going to win more, they have to do it soon. Now they have to do it with a couple $9.5m contracts.
