We’re very lucky on this board in that we have two visionaries, @BigKing and @KINGS17 , they’re like poets, like Shelley and Byron. They’re two distinct types of visionaries, it’s like fire and ice, basically. I feel my role in the band is to be somewhere in the middle of that, kind of like lukewarm water.

the relevant Kings' version:
"On what day did Jeff Carter sign a 11 year, 58 million contract and couldn't God (Bettman) reject it and reduce it to 8 years max"

Awesome cap hit when it mattered though. I have no issue paying for it the last two seasons and this one for what it was worth for the first three years of it as a King.

We're trying to lose weight and get in good shape permanently v. taking diet pills, meth or both. Carter is part of that last five pounds that are the hardest to get rid of.

I had no idea the Kings were so close to the bottom of the league. Wow. 26th. Pathetic.

Its for the best tbh. We played meaningful games, we get our last high draft pick and we don't look back. Hopefully, we make some minor deals at the deadline that help us next year too. Sucks but Id rather this shorten year be a big L than a blackhole finish

Yeah definitely. Might as well tank and go balls out next year. This isn't a playoff team at all. Make some big trades. Is Byfield likely gonna play next year? Who's coming up next year?

Okay, so are we in such a better offensive situation that Stutzle would be somehow running wild even more here rather than in the North division?

The implication was yet another stupid ass Byfield/Stutzle pissing match that I won't even bother with because this one was even more nonsensical than the others, but the idea that TS would be doing so much better here because the Sens are terrible and we're not is a completely faulty premise as evidenced by the above.

Byfield will be much better than Stutzle. Since when do you see a guy with that size have much such tremendous skill? Big lanky guys take a little longer to put it together, fans are just extremely impatient.
 
I brought up Stutzle as a drive by comment lol. Not for a serious discussion. I just want Byfield and Turcotte on this team next year if possible. I don't want to watch this team suck year after year.

At the same time, everyone's favorite small guy out of the two players was Lizotte. Now Lizotte is like Moore last season and Moore is the new Lizotte.

Yup, and that’s not counting things like injuries. I would imagine guys like Moore, know they are 1 nagging injury from having to hang them up. To the point where they will play through anything, and we would never know. Just notice there performance is slightly off.

Just shows how little depth the Kings have. We're a competent team when we can ice Roy-Bjornfot on the second pair and Walker-Maatta on the 3rd pair, but just look out of sorts when Roy-Bjornfot-Maatta are out. Our previous tailspin also coincided with Roy being out of the lineup.

I still think the fact Blake is bringing in players, means some are going by next Monday.

Lemieux, Adam Johnson (whether or not just for AHL) Shafigullin and possibly Nousiainen. And Frk ready.
Maybe Fagemo and Madden out for longer than expected?

Still feeling the Kings about to send 2-3 players out in 1 or 2 deals. Should be sellers at this point
and move some.

Maybe it's best to get another lottery pick, instead of losing 4-0 in the playoffs.
