LA Kings: new GM wanted -- inquire within

The lack of Akil Thomas on the Kings list shows how little he actually watches of them. He’s ahead of Fagemo for a start and I’m confident will be in LA before long. Byfields ranking is clearly based from the prospect pages of these boards... it’s all a bit random. Caulfield is clearly flavour of the month and is way over rated on that list.Button Button’ing for the Kings as usual haha. It must have pained him to put so many LAK on the list so he had to punish us somehow.
Which is why Kempe on the other wing worked so well. I agree it’s not a long term solution, but it doesn’t need to be.I watched Frk for years in Detroit's system.
I don't see how Vilardi-Frk is sustainable given their skating.
All respect to the guy for keeping himself in the picture after all these years. But if you're going to have those two together, you better have a speedy, defensive-oriented winger on the other side.
+/- needs context and in Byfields case it was mostly down to a relatively small handful of games where the Reign as a whole were bad and he was on the ice for a number of horrible defensive turnovers. He was also still figuring out his defensive responsibilities and wasn’t great, but equally wasn’t totally to blame. Byfield has improved defensively and the trend of his +/- has changed as he’s adapting to the pro game. The +/- pain seems to be in the past, so it’s not a concern. I’d be more worried if it was a trend spread evenly over the 23 odd games, but it isn’t.I haven't watched the Reign's games. How has Byfield looked?
That production for a guy that young - won't be 19 until August - is crazy.
But I also see the -13 or whatever.
Seider at 1 and Caufield at 2 is interesting. Based on the seasons they both had it's not un-fair though. Seider has now had two fantastic seasons in 2 pretty good pro leagues as an 18 and 19 year old. His offensive game is clearly at a much higher level than people anticipated when he was drafted. Caufield is like splitting 4 times against a 6, you have a very good chance to win big but you also have a chance to get wiped out. I still think with someone who can shoot it like he can that you take the Rocket Richard winning upside even if there is Swiss league downside, he shoots it as well as anyone in the NHL right now.
I'd still rather have Byfield over both of them because he is 6'3 and is a center with tremendous skill. I'm curious why Button has him so low, seems no one here has Kaliyev as a better prospect.
The funny part is, Bjornfot had a very similar year to Seider in the A last year. I don’t think Bjornfot has the offense for #1, but the levels of hype difference is huge.
In other news, the process has slowly begin to get people back into Staples Center. On 04/20, nonetheless.
Edit: Oh, the post was already made in the COVID thread. Well, I might as well keep it here unless informed otherwise. Has the linked tweet and all.
He’s ahead of Fagemo for a start
I just realized that this is Kopitar’s sixteenth season.
He has only been in the playoffs six times.
Not that he hasn’t made them count but just thought that was interesting how many Kings teams he has been on that have just sucked.
Does that count the year that would have been his first playoff run 2010 (?) but was forced to miss due to injury
Believe we were swept by the Canucks that year or Sharks
I didn't see one Anaheim Quack on that Button list
Yafallo is a number 3 LWinger on a Stanley Cup winner! I'd trade his ass in a heartbeat no questions asked...if some NHL team offered a 2nd rounder...poof he'd be gone...c'mon Buffalo give us something...I'd settle for Rasmus Asplund and a 4th rounder in 2021High he gets extended. Good fit, probably worth more to the Kings than others, likes it here--where else is he going to get a 1LW role next to Anze Kopitar? No one else is going to pay him THAT much more than us. Will come down to term imo. They've already begun talks IIRC, or at least Blake said they're working on an extension or something thereabouts (someone else can correct me, too tired)
He's got at least another year till someone can steal his job.
The "criteria" is that players he believes have made the full time jump to the NHL are excluded. That's actually just nuts. I understand that he's playing to the Canadian audience, but leaving Zegras and Drysdale (and even Dostal or Perrault) off this list is bordering on journalistic negligence. At first I thought it might be because they've both played NHL games, but guys like Brannstrom have played as many as they have.

Deserves it,you are kidding right? Yafallo should just go back to Buffalo and hook up with that sad sack organization...He's always been a 3rd liner and no better...Mi fa cagareI would be surprised if Iafallo gets less than $5 mil per from the Kings. He deserves it.
I disagreed completely and I’m not wrong...I don't think he is clearly ahead of Fagemo at all. Our own board had Fagemo ranked as the 6th best Kings prospect, while Akil was ranked at 11.
