He has been horrible in shootouts pretty much since the winter classic in Buffalo

That's the problem with small goalies in the shootout. They can't come out quickly to cut down the angle on shots. They have to sit back because players can come in slowly, fake a shot and then quickly cut around to shoot. Meanwhile big goalies barely need to move from where they want to stand.
