I don't think he is clearly ahead of Fagemo at all. Our own board had Fagemo ranked as the 6th best Kings prospect, while Akil was ranked at 11.

Agree I'd take Fagemo ahead of Thomas right now may change later but Fagemo is a bit ahead at the moment for me.

Don’t get me wrong, I have no problem with Fagemo, I just think Thomas is grossly underrated around here. He will make it, I have little doubt.

Totally understandable. I love Thomas as I mention I may change my mind later but I put Fagemo just a bit ahead because I like his offensive upside just a bit more but Thomas may have a better overall game. Personally at this point we just need anyone of our prospects to step up in the near future and I don't care who it is. The big club is lacking a true stud that we can trust night in and night out. Vilardi is the best young player on the Kings at this moment but he has his days and struggles for a long stretch of time, which is understandable of course being still so young. Crossing my fingers anyone can take the mantle from Kopi one day.

5 non-playoff seasons
2 first round exits
1 playoff win since 2014

I’ll still take the two cups over 20 consecutive playoffs with nothing to show for it but damn the Kings haven’t been relevant for some time.

Vilardi’s struggles haven’t surprised me in the slightest. He’s missed so much hockey prior to this season it was pretty much guaranteed he’d struggle for consistency. I really think it gets forgotten sometimes when he gets critiqued. He’s shown the ability needed at the NHL level to be a top 6 player but I’m not expecting him to develop consistency until next season, perhaps not even until 22/23.

So someone on the Bruins board proposed Vaak+ for Brown and Kayliev. In my head, I thought that made no sense unless the plus was LARGE. Thoughts?

Also, would LA entertain moving Brown? What would the price be?

I think with all do respect to Vaak no way la think of making the long time king available for a trade unless he requests it. He has earn the right to retire a king if he wants to. As for Kayliev i highly doubt he available as well With all the prospects la has he would be our best wing prospect and i would rather keep him

We are lacking talent on the roster now. Big holes to fill before we can say we are ready for a real push. Blake has got work to do because I don't see these holes filled next year with what we have.

Top big mobile LD
RW Winger sniper
Crease clearing D man
Power Forward
Overall size needs an upgrade.

I'd rather keep the soon to be 20 year old who hasn't done anything yet over getting the 22 year old who hasn't done anything yet.

I would guess moving is up to Brown. He's not chasing anything. His cap hit/contract no longer hurts the Kings. If he wanted to go anywhere, I'm sure getting a 36/37 year old wouldn't cost a lot.

29th in total pts and pts% since Feb 26th. Tied for the 3rd fewest RW, and tied for the 2nd fewest ROW.

We've seen guys as old as him (or older) fetch 1st round picks before, granted those were future HOFer, but in the season in which they were traded, Brown has been as good if not better.

The Kings seem to be committed to letting their key vets determine their trade status. Guys like Carter, Quick and Brown would most likely have to ask for a move before they would be offered in trade. If the Kings were willing to eat some salary and/or be aggressive, they could probably move 2/3 of them.

That said, it's hard to see what drives them at this point other than the comfort of being in Southern California and rooted for the time being. They have to know that the Kings are not going to be in a position to win a Cup while they are still under contract. It's easy to just assume that everyone wants another shot at the title but who knows?

If they were in Ottawa, then they probably would be crawling over each other to get out but the lifestyle and already having 2 rings may just rise higher than chasing another chance at their age.

For a team that struggles to score, they aren't moving the one prospect that it almost guaranteed to be a pure sniper in the NHL.

Honestly AA, Clague, Lizotte, Luff, Wagner, and Iaffalo, are pretty much it for trade bait.

Vets are not leaving.

Can’t see LA adding a significant piece.
