want to talk covid, do it in the covid thread. Want to talk about Lemieux and how he has to quarantine and where he fits on the team, be my guest. Not having threads derailed. If you have issues with what someone said, take it to pms

Kings-Blues game has been rescheduled to May 10, basically the second to last day of the regular season. Depending on how the Kings and Blues do the rest of the way, this game could end up deciding who goes to the playoffs.

"Game 456, St. Louis at Los Angeles, scheduled for March 15, is now scheduled for May 10 at 10 p.m. ET"

NHL announces schedule changes for 19 games

I've said it before, but I think K'Andre Miller makes some sense for the Kings.

21 y.o.
6'4"
207lbs
Left Shot
22nd OA pick in 2018

He's big but a great skater. Lots of upside.

Rangers need a center prospect, Kings need a left defenseman.

I admit I don't watch the Rangers very often, so I don't know how he's looked, but he certainly fits the criteria the Kings are looking for.

i think he is a big piece for the rangers. From what games of theirs I have seen I don't see him being available. Agree that he would fit well with the kings though

If we wanted K'Andre Miller we would've drafted him instead of Kupari

Don't know about that, maybe they liked both guys but took the best player available. I really like Kupari and imaging if not for his injury at the world juniors he would be even more well rounded.

If it comes down to the last game that means the Kings survived that Vegas-Colorado run in April and I'd be impressed.

Hoven and Dillman were surprised by the Lemieux trade and both seemed to be expecting a different/bigger move.
Maybe there's something legit brewing and perhaps Blake is closer to making a pretty significant move than we thought.

not sure how Lemiuex deal would play a part in that. LA has a plethora of bottom 6 forwards and adding Lemieux just takes a contract spot and cap.

Wait and see I suppose.

Since it is signing season for college players... remember the hype Jack Johnson had coming in? Then this happened:

Talk about having reality come crashing down on your head. He was no longer the big man on campus after making the jump to the NHL, and I couldn’t think of any moment in his career where he looked anything like the dominant player he was at Michigan.

didn't have a huge hit his first game? pops into my head for some reason.

He also got beat up by Carcillo and Doan during that five game stint. Two fights in one game during that stint: two fights for the rest of his Kings career after that.

He found out real quick that he wasn't a bad ass at the NHL level.

I just recall him being the recipient of a huge hit, from Jan Bulis of all people. He also had a few forgettable scraps where he looked overmatched in the handful of games he got that season.

I still think that was a worthwhile deal. Even without Johnson being a key piece in getting Carter think the acquisition cost for him was a good shot to take. Didn't work out like I had hoped for JMFJ as a king, but sure gave hope at a time when I wanted it.

I wonder if Blake was looking at a few different potential deals for a guy with piss & grit.....and ultimately did this (lesser) deal because the others ones were just too much to give up at this point in time.

The other options who might fall into that category are Jake Virtanen and Sam Bennett. Don't know if Zack Kassian was even an option, but there aren't very many like Brendan Lemieux out there.

This could also be a precursor to a bigger trade . Maybe someone else wanted him and we are retaining salary and shipping him out along with something else in a bigger deal

There aren't many players on the current roster that I don't think we'd want to give up or players that other teams would want, getting someone like Lemieux could help that. Probably not a whole lot, but it definitely something

If there’s 1 player with “all tools, no toolbox” it’s him. I remember watching him early on and thinking he’s going to be a beast.

I would be willing to give up Walker + + for a defensive upgrade.

Walker , Lemiux, + could bring in a bigger more dynamic top 4 d-man
