For some reason Conner Garland's name keeps popping up by NHL insiders. They always say Arizona would only move him to re-coop lost drat capital and it would be significant cost.
What would you guys do?
1st + luff/Wagner/Lizotte?

Losing any of Luff, Lizotte or Wagner would be tremendous. I would do that. While Barry Trotz has .5" neck, Conner Garland has the longest neck, at about 9 inches...which is bizarre in that he's like 5'8" . He's one of those you love to hate, but unfortunately, he can play the game.

Where's Kupari? Would like to see someone large with a mean streak thrown in there somewhere as well (or on the D).

interesting you have guys like Moore, Grundstrom and Athanasiou over Kupari.
I would move Athanasiou out today. I don't think his value has been higher in the last 3 years.

I think if the Kings will not make an 'impactful' move, they should find another Trevor Moore...so they can upgrade a bottom 6 spot, that Lizotte and Wagner are honestly abusing.
The biggest problem in my mind, with this team - only 2 of the 4 lines have any chemistry and cohesion:
Iafallo - Kopitar - Brown and Grundstrom - JAD - Moore. The other 2 lines they put together have no chemistry or cohesiveness.
The Kings need upgrades from Lizotte, Wagner, Carter and Mac D. The only one they have a replacement is for MacD.
It's too bad Frk got injured, as he and Vilardi had chemistry and adding AA or Kempe would probably work. Carter does
not work with them (or any line for 3 years now)
Once a Kupari, Turcotte, or Kaliyev can take a spot, I think it best to find another Trevor Moore - an NHL capable player that can skate,
make plays, shoot, play 2 ways and just an all around better player than Wagner and Lizotte. In the meantime, give Lias Andersson
another shot.
Surely, there must be a few Trevor Moore's out there, Blake could land.

I really think the Kings are missing a 3rd line Center. Remember Kempe--Vilardi--Frk were on fire last season and looked good the games Frk was playing. If you had...

That is a solid lineup. The problem is who plays 3rd line Center or do you move Carter back to Center and find a fill in winger.
Wagner and Lizotte are good fill in guys that can bring some energy every now and then. Luff needs to be on the Taxi squad or in the AHL. He is not an NHL forward.
The dman pairings are kind of set as of now. I do think we need to find another TWD in the Willie Mitchell role either to pair with Doughty or Walker.

I would be all over that, but he will be expensive.
Luckily, Arizona won't be in our division after this season, so that does make a trade with the Yotes more possible
I would pay more, seems like he is available to re-coop lost draft capital. The Athletic said they want players who were drafted in round one sp they are further in development or round 1 picks or a combo.
Madden + 2021 first + a roster player to clear a spot ?

If the Kings could fetch one 2nd round pick that would be pretty good.

I think the NHL is moving towards a speed oriented league. Next year, I can see a lineup of:
Kupari - Kopitar - Brown
Iafallo - Vilardi - Carter
AA - Lizzotte - Wagner
Grundstrom - JAD - Moore
Anderson - Doughty
Roy - Bjornfot
Walker - XX
Peterson

I think Vilardi will really come around next season, but he will not be the driving force on his line. He'll need a skilled winger who can take over at times. I just don't see Iafallo or Carter doing that. But with Kupari in the lineup, he will bring a crap ton of speed and skill to that top line and should help with point production. We need speed if we're going to contend with Colorado and Edmonton. I think that's why Iafallo is in the lineup, but we also need hands and we got a couple of guys coming up who have pretty sick hands. Can't wait for Byfield to make his debut. Once Byfield's ready, we should ship Kopitar out as I believe his type of play is on the out, but he's a good placeholder. Byfield will step in and be an absolute beast. Can't wait! Turcotte will fill in the wing on one of the top lines eventually as ONT is grooming him to be a winger. We will have legit speed and skill. These are good days we're living in gentlemen.

I think AA is a great third-liner and nothing more. I think Kupari will be on the team next year. Thomas and Kaliyev might challenge for a spot. Turcotte and Fagemo are just not ready to be on the big club, but it would be nice. We suddenly have a logjam at wing. Not bad.

Not so sure on Turcotte as he has made a huge difference in Ontario, he’s definitely been the catalyst to the turnaround down there and has really helped Kaliyev’s game. If his game continues to build and he stays healthy I can see him getting a couple of games this season and a very long look in camp.

Good idea in a vaccum. Until you start forcing under qualified players into positions they aren’t ready for just cause of “size”. Are we going to pull Trevor Moore from the lineup/not call up Turcotte in favor of some knuckle dragger as well?

Anderson is smaller so is Walker. Bjornfot needs some more strength too.
Clague I can see being taken by Seattle or traded.
Strand is bigger. Hoping Morverare or Hults can contribute.
