He needs to get exposed to Seattle. If he makes it through we should consider trade\buyout and get a bigger D man. He is too soft and doesn't bring any offense. Go hard after Oleksiak to play with Walker.

So who else hates it when people throw out rumors without citing a source? I mean I like to know whether or not I should be taking it seriously. Did someones grandma overhear it at Taco Bell? Did mrhockeybloggz with 8 followers on twitter post it? Did LeBrun say it at some obscure Canadian radio station? Is it written in Finnish papers?

All are equally possible when rumors are presented in this manner. I hate it.

What rumors exactly are you referring too?

Tarasenko did ask for a trade, it is reported on all major sport news outlets.

Eichel? His is injuried and teams are weary to move in on him now until it is resolved. This will take a while so get used to the same talking points in trade rumors just regurgitated for a while.

Seth Jones? There are in negotiations, if CBJ don't sign him long term he'll be moved. Another trade that can take a while.

It's the bloggers on certain sites that make up shit for hits, and people on this board run with it.

It's Toronto. Trading their #1 D so they could add another 5 million dollar forward is the most Toronto thing ever.

The 1st 30 minutes were recaps of the the Kings recent season and was a snoozefest. How fast he talked and jumped around I felt I was growing a tumor.

After that, the prospects info lacked any factual stats... Dude didn't even know Ontario was California. Thought Doughty was born in 1980. Didn't even mention Turcotte was hurt again this past season (or Madden / Hults for that matter).

At least he watched the World Junior Tournament, that seemed to be his strongest arguments about player info.

Also he mentioned he had to watch Malmö Redhawks because of another player so he also watched Helge Grans... but just completely glossed over how he played this past season (Grans led the entire league with a -21 in his plus/minus in 43 games this year) and just resorted to future projections about him.

Kudos on knowing Lukas Parik's .860 save percentage this past season, but Kaliyev doesn't play LW (1:07:00). Doesn't sound like he watched any highlights/full games of the Reign games this past season. So why not do a touch of research but doing a super long podcast? I don't get it. Put in the work.

He could have read some recent articles and write-ups to have some 1st hand knowledge about how all the players in Ontario grew/regressed, started losing at the beginning of the season but turned it around, suffered because of the goaltending, etc. Also first year coach for that Reign team with Wrobo. Nothing, nada, zip.

FWIW - 2021 draft info starts @ 1:10:00 – this is probably what people here will find interesting.

I give him a pass as he's one person watching as many prospects as possible for all 31 teams, as well as watching all the upcoming prospects, and churning out a 300-page guide he sells for $5 (at least that's how much he charged last year).

He did also correct himself on Doughty's birthdate.

And he admitted he learned about Ontario. There's a Dallas in NC, OR, PA, and GA. Unless you live in the area, you probably don't know all the areas. He SHOULD have known, and he admitted it.

I was more interested in his thoughts on the draft than the history, but it did all tie in together as to why he felt Cossa/Wallstedt would be the best pick (even if I disagree with him).

The $1.3MM doesn't really hurt next season in the buyout scenario but the extra $2.3MM or whatever doesn't seem necessary this season so what's the point?

Does AEG not have to pay him the whole salary? I thought the player still got his full money.

I dislike Maatta as much as everyone else but he was not bad enough for a buyout. He doesnt make much or have a long contract either.

He was a video coach for 2 years before being promoted in 2008 to head of player development. Way too long in a position and not stay stagnated. Hockey changed since 2008. Need to find new vision adaptable to the younger faster game. Wrobo is probaly more important now to this organization than Nelson is anyways.

But when teams like NewJersey hire Meghan Duggan and the Leafs hire Haly Wichenheiser to lead player development, it's probably a joke of a position anyways. Give me good coaches instead of paper pushers any day.

So....in otherwords, you have no idea what qualifications are needed for player development, but because he used to play for the Kings, it's a bad thing to have him there? Did I get that right?

So, when teams use experienced NHLers, it's a joke, but when they think outside the box to grab qualified individuals that weren't NHLers, it's also a joke.

Maybe you should prepare your application, sounds like you're the professional here.

Couldn't care less who he played for. And I said the qualifications.

Needs to be more adaptable to a younger faster league. New vision on how the game is played today. Master in sports psychology would help in development players coming from overseas adapting to new culture.

What vision does he have when he says Zegras and the rest of the US team don’t play the “right way” like Turcotte does. This is 2008 vision. Drafting offensive talent and bring out the defensive side in a player sometimes pays bigger dividends. Unless he is just a puppet for what the GM wants.

IMO he hasn't develop a top 6 players in decade. (Toffoli being the only one). I hope Wrobo fixes that trend.
