Speculation: 2020-21 LA Kings News/Rumors/Roster Discussion Part II

Valardi going nowhere, espcially with the amount of time and money they've put into him to get him playing hockey again. Kempe is the biggest enigma on this team since frolov. He just has zero chemistry with Kopitar, they tried it multiple times and it last for about 2 games, then Kempe pulls a Houdini and its 11 games without a goal, plus five o-zone penalties.

I would move Kempe before I would move Gabe at this point. Love AK but I think it is time to make room for our kids and we could also use his slot to bring in a "difference maker" if that is what we want to do. AK has value and is a solid player but I would try to move him and bring back Carter or one of the other available "snipers" that are out there. Ultimately though we aren't close to being a true contender just yet (think we will be again in a season or so at most) so I think that letter GV develop on the team making room for other mentors could be a good move.

Was Hextall intrested in Quick as a mentor for Jarry a while back? He could work out a deal with Seattle to select Quick in the expansion then trade for him. There isn't much else for the Kraken to choose from.

Pittsburgh can't do the trade before the expansion because they have 2 Goalies to protect then.

A trade for Quick with Pit is probably more valuable than one of Lizzote, Wagner, Clague.

Could have had too much caffeine.
 
In terms of AA, watching this player I had thought maybe he's going to be something special. Then I started to think, I've seen this guy before - lots of potential just can't quite put it all together. I think he will always be that way. In fact, I think if he was under contract for a few more years he is exactly the type of player Seattle would want to take. Personally, I'd rather lose him than Clague. Wonder if Blake et al. will get him signed before the draft.

Sign Mike Reilly or trade minor assets (like a 3rd + B prospect) for Ghost

Quick

That's a playoff team in the crappy Pacific and doesn't mortgage the future

Depending on what we have to give up it’s a good pick up. Taking on his salary should be a huge part of the deal

This is also pre expansion draft so we are helping preds there too

I hadn't thought of Arvidsson, but I like the player for sure. I didn't realize he was signed on such a solid deal as well, would've guessed he was over $5M/year. This is pretty much exactly what many of us were talking about in terms of targeting top 6 contributors with 2-3 years left on their deals.

I'm still hoping we take one of Tampa's forwards off their hands as well.
 
Arvidsson as a cap dump move seems interesting. If it happens, it’s hopefully a case of buying low.
 
This guy scored 34 goals in 58 games just a few seasons ago. He's in his prime production years still, and signed to a great contract.

Super excited if we landed Arvidsson.
 
Maybe it's a buy low scenario, hopefully for way less than we got for Toffoli. Otherwise I'm not sure I like it.
 
Arvidsson would be a great addition. His finishing was down last year but that appears to be driven by some poor shooting luck.
