Skating and his defensive play were knocks against him. Also one of the younger players available at the draft.

Rated to go mostly in the 3rd but some had him highest going in the 2nd round.

Seems like lack of practice has hurt Canada and USA, seen multiple times players going to the same open ice spot or 2 screening the goalie since they aren’t used to playing with each other.

So looks like every one of our prospects not Parik have scored a point so far. Turcotte, Kaliyev, Faber, Bjornfot, Simontaival, Chromiak, Byfield (did he get a point yesterday?), Spence. That's not bad actually. Not all are going to make it but that's still pretty impressive.

Parik looks controlled in net so far. Hasn't robbed anyone, but looks decent.

It's such an obstacle though, because Askarov scares me more than any Russian not in the NHL.
