In my defense, my statements knocking him were before he was drafted.

Though it's pretty obnoxious how much they were drooling over him. Caufield had a quiet night so they stopped obsessing over him.

Caufield Mr. Preliminary. Four goals last year in a Prelim game two this year. For this teams sake, kid needs to score when it matters, if the U.S wants to have a chance. Good win but not going to get too excited until they reach the elimination round. Hoping for a good showing the next two games, cuz I know it will not be this easy. The Czechs played them great last year so enjoy the easy win cuz you can possibly lose the next two.

Four players didn't have points for Team USA today: Henry Thrun, Bobby Brink, Landon Slaggert, and... Cole Caufield.

Take it you didn't see Bjornfot today?

If I were to rank performances today, I'd rank it as:
Faber
Turcotte
Bjornfot
Byfield
Parik

Bjornfot played very well. He also had tougher competition against Czech Republic.

Biggest issue with Bjornfot/Sweden in general was the pushback in the first from Czechs.

I'm sure as Sweden faces Austria and USA faces Czech Republic, it will be a better performance from Bjornfot.

Turcotte deserves some love tonight. Really improved his faceoff total from last night and driving hard all night long and probably could've had 5 points in the first period alone if not for the Austrian goalie.

Agreed. Turcotte looked real good! Couple of posts, couple of nice passes that weren't converted. Really solid game for him.

Ahh the joys of WJC season...outlandish hot takes because my prospects didn’t drop 4 goals against a hapless team.

Almost as good as opposing teams building up there prospects by breaking down others. Over 50% of negative Byfield comments come from Ottawa fans, coincidence?

They are doing the same thing in the US thread to defend Sanderson.

I'm pretty sure he's being sarcastic. Or drunk. Or drunk and sarcastic.

I would most definitely disagree. Bjornfot did everything Faber did and more, but against much better competition.

I have really enjoyed watching Faber play, but he appears to be getting those "wow, I didn't realize this guy was that good" bonus points here. Bjornfot is just simply higher on the food chain. He has more experience so naturally his game is crisper and cleaner.

even without an elite talent on the backend, the Kings have never been deeper with their D prospects

Simontaival has been showing great anticipation this game. Without the puck, he seems to know where to go so he can retrieve it.
