Looking for info on some guys who made their debut last season...

Jonathan Davidsson
J.C. Beaudin

What kind of players are they and what kind of NHL future projection do they have?

Thanks!

Jonathan Davidsson has an interesting skill set, I liked what he showed in a brief stint in Ottawa but he has struggled with concussions since getting traded. I wouldn't count him out but I expect after this season he will be playing in europe. His upside is that of 2nd/3rd line tweener but at this point I think it's pretty unlikely.

JC Beuadin has a good motor and skates well enough. That said he doesn't bring much to the table. Absolute best case scenario is a 4th line player, I don't think he cracks the NHL outside of the odd call up here and there.

Hopefully playing at a lower level helps him piece together his game. He's a talented goaltender, hasn't figured it out yet though.

Only Sens prospect playing today was Victor Lodin with Timra, they won 4-2 Lodin had zero points, his total so far this season is 6gp 1g. Also of note is Jonathan Dahlen plays for Timra and has 12 points in 5 gp.

Dahlen still in Allsvenskan eh. He has absolutely no desire to become a better player. When teams talk about players with character, this ain't it.

I don’t think it’s necessarily fair to question Dahlens character... but I don’t think his desire to be an NHLer is as high as some other players. The Sens pointed to Sokolovs decision to stay in Cape Breton when COVID hit, rather than returning to his family in Russia... that’s a kid who wants to play in the NHL - that’s his motivation. It doesn’t make him a better person, but it shows where the priority is. I don’t think Dahlens priority is to play in the NHL, which doesn’t mean anything about who he is as a friend, brother, son, partner, etc... but it isn’t what you’re necessarily looking for in a teammate or a player in your organization.

We take it as a given that these kids all desperately want to play in the NHL just because they have the ability to, but some (or even most) just don’t have that drive.

For sure, my intend isn't to say he is a bad person. In most cases I don't think that is what is meant when referring to a players character. Things like, determination, work ethic, motivation that's what comes to mind when I think of a players character.

Playing with U20's at that. Not expecting much out of him.

I was trying to find that All-Star game campaign video where Nicklas Lidstrom is getting roasted for having a -5 game this one time, so he is clearly a poor player.

Because that's pretty much what you guys are doing.
