They could but if someone like Simon Edvinsson falls to them at 10 .. I'd have no issue with them taking him. I agree they should target RD but at 10 Ceuleman's would be the best option and that would be a reach .. they've done it before though. They can target one or two in the 2nd round.
To me if you end up with 2 BIG LD that can play bottom pair minimum but are NHL Dmen .. that is not a bad thing.. very moveable assets that have good value.
Agreed. If all the players I like are gone than I think they should look to either draft Ceulemans RD at #10 or move back to get him & acquire another pick. On the other hand, they could get a few RD in the second rd who should also be available & could turn out as good. It's going to be interesting as to who is left on the board when they go to draft & what they do, I expect if either Ottawa guy (McTavish or Clarke) is available they will draft him but if not, I have no clue who they might like.

I'd like to see them have a D heavy draft to really stock that cupboard.

I see a cup of coffee players guys that never play a full NHL season but got a few call ups in a season or various seasons

Ex :

David Dziurzynski 12 GP in 2012-13 and 14 GP in 2015-16

Buddy Robinson 3 GP in 2015-16, 4 GP in 2016-17, 5 GP in 2019-20 and 9 GP in 2020-21
Buddy Robinson has had so many cups of coffee he must be bouncing off the walls!

Out of curiosity, is that saying "cup of coffee" limited to a certain number of games? Would any player that plays less than 100 games fit that label or would it refer to anyone who plays less than 30 games? I am just curious when the cut off is.

Could play 100 games over 15 years with 13 cups of coffee, never able to make it but get games as a call up every other year.

Guys yet to make it full time, but getting called up for games here and there.

Not sure if this had been posted yet.

I still haven't given up on you Logan Brown.

Garrioch’s most recent article makes it sound like we are going to trade him soon, but who knows.

The 23-year-old No. 11 overall pick in the 2016 NHL draft has yet to lock up a spot with the Senators and, as an RFA this summer, general manager Pierre Dorion has already stated Brown will receive a qualifying offer to retain his rights for free agency.
But, there’s no question Brown and the Senators are at a crossroads in his career.
He hasn’t been able to stay healthy, he’s been unable to stay on the roster with any regularity and it feels like one way or another Brown’s situation will come to a head this summer. Yes, he’s eligible for the Seattle expansion draft July 21, but he could be moved before then.

GARRIOCH: This summer will be pivotal in determining Logan Brown's future with the Senators | Ottawa Sun

Also talks about how there’s belief among “some” aka Sens org that Greig is on his way to surpassing Brown on the depth chart.

If Logan Brown comes to camp in amazing shape, has a huge chip on his shoulder, and he gets a solid look with a couple of high energy players like Nick Paul and Conor Brown on his wings - then hes going to finally force his way onto this roster. I feel like this could be an incredible 3rd line - but its all up to Logan at this point.

Tkachuk-Norris-Batherson
J Stu-Pinto-White
Paul-L Brown-C Brown
Formenton-Tierney-Watson

Daddy gets taken in the expansion draft. White gets his career revived and slotted in a spot that he can realistically live up to his contract (as a utility type winger with a game similar to Nick Foligno's). And the Senators get three very solid two-way scoring lines, and a well above average 4th line/Swiss-army knife that can be used in a number of situations.

Its up to the D-corps at that point imo - the forwards are going to be able to get their job done at both ends.

Why not play White on the third line and let him play more of a bottom 6 roll.

Paul Pinto White becomes your D zone start line.

Is AM supposed to be some workout fiend?

Don't recall hearing about his off season training before so hope this won't just be "bros" hanging out.

He’s always trained in turn off season. From what I’ve gathered there has been questions around the type of training he does.

For example the Sens probably have him on a injury prevention, strength symmetry program to support his quads, hamstrings, and back and he’s been lifting weights and add upper body (chest/bicep) muscle.

You would think they’d also like him to get quicker and build endurance etc.

No, when I wrote, "AM" I meant Austin Matthews.

When I hear Bath is training with Crosby, Mac and Marchand I get excited because those guys compete hard and you know they push each other.

When I hear Logan is training with AM I question if there is anything noteworthy about it let alone positive for Sens.

Is AM going to flip a switch for Brown? I hope so but not sure.
