I think it sends a good message to the young players and the team in general in Bjornfot makes it. Sending him down after he's been this good isn't a good look...

Are the feeds any good? I know many of the CHL ones suck, maybe i'll get one game and find out.

If you mean the FPS or smoothness of the streams, I didn't notice any significant problems last year. Every once and a while it would drop the stream, but not often. The biggest issue with quality is the cameras angles may vary depending on the arena, which can be a bit frustrating, and listening to some marginal play by play of the opponent can be a bit distracting. The Reign play by play man is very good. Cameron Close will do all the home games (34 games) and about 10 road games this year, otherwise you get the visitor PBP. I mean, don't expect and NHL quality broadcast. It's the minors with limited manpower and budget, but if want to follow our prospects, it's a good way to get a look for yourself. AHL TV is much more reasonably priced now if you want to just follow one team, and the quality has improved quite a bit. I believe every arena was HD last year that I saw, and that wasn't the case previously.

Seems to me it's pretty much a lock he makes the team out of camp, but it's certainly not a lock he stays more than 9 games. The Kings management have already written off this season, and will continue to whittle away at the roster until the new core gets old enough to make the team competitive again, but that's at least two years away if not more. The vision here is building long-term, and the sacrifice may be to the detriment of the team this year.

I believe 9 games still burns a year off his ELC...

would giving Tobias a 9 game look, forcing Blake to send someone like MacD or LaDue to waivers / Ontario then jeopardize losing that player when Tobias is then sent off? Losing that player may create issues for the balance of the season, no?

Nope. CBA Article 9.1(d)(i)
In the event that an 18 year old or 19 year old Player signs an SPC with a Club but does not play at least ten (10) NHL Games in the first season under that SPC, the term of his SPC and his number of years in the Entry Level System shall be extended for a period of one (1) year, except that this automatic extension will not apply to a Player who is 19 according to Section 9.2 by virtue of turning 20 between September 16 and December 31 in the year in which he first signs an SPC. Unless a Player and Club expressly agree to the contrary, in the event a Player's SPC is extended an additional year in accordance with this subsection, all terms of the SPC, with the exception of Signing Bonuses, but including Paragraph 1 Salary, games played bonuses and Exhibit 5 bonuses, shall be extended; provided, however, that the Player's Paragraph 1 Salary shall be extended in all circumstances.

Kings are very deep in tweener defensemen. We have a lot of issues, but that's not one of them. Plus, they could just sent Walker down (which is what I think will happen) for a month since he is wavier-exempt, and bring him back up if they want when (if) Tobias goes to the SHL.

Granted it’s pre-season but having seen both Anderson and Walker play, you think Walker will be the first call up?
I’m of the thought that Mikey was super impressive with his all around game and could be the PPQB we’ve been looking for!

Only for balance on the right-side. I just think that's the plan for now while they give Mikey some time to grow at the AHL level. Tmac seems to prefer the lefty-righty thing with his D, I guess it depends on how well LaDue can recover from his slow start. The coaches comments reflect that LaDue is weeks behind his counterparts due to his injury, I don't think he will lose his job based upon being behind, but the leash will be short if he doesn't improve quickly.

Could the Kings send LaDue down to ONT for a conditioning stint because he was injured for most of training camp? Could delay a decision on a waiver eligible player.

I just hope that if/when Bjornfot gets send back to Sweden that Mikey takes his place...

Looks like TB is making the opening night roster and staying for enough games to not burn a year off his ELC. Jon Rosen was on the intermission during last nights audio broadcast and he said the slide rule applies to Bjornfot.

I don’t know if he makes the opening night lineup, I think it’s doubtful both he and Lizotte play in game 1.

The Prokhorkin to the Reign is good news for both organizations. Gives him time to adapt to the North American game while adding skill to the Reign top 9, and if he plays well he can join the Kings during the season before the inevitable injuries and demotions. I wonder what the date actually is for the opt-out on his EAC?

kind of a bummer, was really expecting him to slot in nicely

doubt he sticks around if he doesn't get called up soon, that's a big time pay cut for a solid KHL player

Given that every center besides Kopitar is a question mark as to whether or not they're legit second line options, it would be great for Prokhorkin to get acclimated by earning minutes as a top two center in Ontario. If he's tearing it up there, he can find his way back on the roster.

I like Tobias Bjornfot! I think he's got the makings of being our top D-man! He's 18 while vet Doughty will be 30 in November. The Kings need to draft kids like Bjornfot. We need 2-3 RDmen for the future. Durzi and Spence could be in the mix there too but getting a top flight one is imperative in the 2020 draft. Jamie Drydale could be gotten with a top 5-7 pick! I think the best thing for the Kings to do is give Bjornfot 9 games and then send him back to Djurgarden so he can play big minutes. He can work on his strength and offense and in a years time there will be nothing holding him back. Another year developing will do wonders...don't want to see him wilt during the NHL 82 plus game marathon and be exposed. He like other young Kings Dmen(Kale Clague,Mikey Anderson,S Durzi) will benefit greatly from playing in the AHL or Swedish Hockey league! Bjornfot is very close. The next step is critical...do the Kings want him to be a legit top 2 top 4 or top 6 that is the question. I say top 2 with offensive skills. Tobias can be that! Martinez can play this year then the Kings can trade him for a least what they got for Muzzin except I would want just draft picks...2020(1st),2021(2nd),2022(3rd)!

Agreed. They can go Kupari, Prokhorkin and Anderson-Dolan down the middle, and move Sutter to LW on the 3rd line, or Prokhorkin could also play LW. Man if Wagner or Grundstrom are sent down (neither has had a good preseason, both waiver exempt but not expecting this), the line up in ONT will be fun for a bit. Plus you have Rempal, Luff and Frk on the right side. Stothers is not going to know what to do with more skilled players around for a while. Still, it takes time for the brand new guys to adapt.

Doubt very much Prokhorkin goes to the AHL. He's 26 and will go back to KHL if he doesn't make it or isn't dealt to an another NHL team! Like his size, strength and bite. And he has talent...not sure the Kings put the best players around him to succeed...

He was assigned there today, and he can't evoke his European Assignment Clause until later in the season (unknown date). So he has very little choice unless he wants to have his contract voided.
