I was making that comment with the assumption he'd carry an extra Dman but now that it seems Mikey Anderson has been sent down I would guess so.. However, he didnt exactly set the world on fire but he did have some good chemistry with Amadio..

IDK, Something is different about this team... The youngsters are hungry, some vets are angry, while other vets are going to lose their place on this before the TDL... And everyone seems to sense this.

I like the Hutton stopgap because its a moveable asset at worse. Ryan is meh but Mikey is likely taking that spot sooner rather than later and what can i say about Tobias f***en Bjornfot!
Michael Amadio is looking like he's going to contribute, Proker seems to bring sandpaper, Grundy is shwoing am all around game, and Lizotte.. he's a player, maybe a Scott Gomez type..

I like what i've seen so far...

We've got a bunch of right-shooting dmen already. It seems like right shooters used to be at a premium, but nowadays there's a plethora of them.

What? We don’t have any right-handed defensemen worth a damn beyond Doughty. Walker, Roy, LaDue, those guys are bottom pairing guys at best.

How can that be a terrible trade when McKeon didnt contribute anything to the team that traded for him?

Perhaps Lombardi already knew he'd be nothing but a 5/6 tweetner dman of which there are plenty in both the NHL and AHL.

You don't know that. These guys could be serviceable dmen. I like Walker and Roy.

Carolina is just deep on defense. I think McKeown would be on the NHL roster for most organizations. Carolina fans seem to think highly of him, just no room for him.

Forbort has been "good enough" to be with Doughty the last few years. It's not saying much.

Fun fact involving the two former Kings defense prospects who were waived today and Brayden Point.

All three players were drafted in 2014. McKeown (50th overall) and Lintuniemi (60th overall) were second round picks, Brayden Point was a third round pick, 79th overall.

Forbort didn't make the NHL full time until he was 24, Bjornfot turned 18 five months ago and is making the team consider keeping him to play with Doughty on the top pair. They are wildly different scenarios.

I’m not suggesting that we should claim McKeown or that he is better than Walker or Roy. I don’t particularly care, although more lottery tickets are better. I just don’t think RD is a strength of ours by any means.

Durzi is RHD and may only be a year away. He's got tools and skills...great vision. One or 2 years away.
