Yikes Rathbone played today, his team won 6-3 (another 6-goal night, Harvard either leading or close to leading the NCAA in scoring, haven't checked yet) but again Rathbone has jack-all on the scoresheet. Maybe I should be pleased my alma mater is doing so well, but my only real interest is that all our Canuck prospects excel like Madden is currently doing.

Four points for Madden (3g, 1a) and three points for McDonough (1g, 2a) tonight.
Our boys are rolling.

Edit: Madden now leads the NCAA in goals scored.

Just saw the highlights of those Madden goals....all I can say is wowzer!.... as in howitzer!.....didn't realize that this kid is a shooter...a couple of those were laser beams.....Hockey DB lists him 5'11" and 150. But I guess if you have the balance like a Pettersson, you can grip it and rip it no matter how big or small you are.

And as poster 701 points out, he now leads the NCAA in goals with 11 and is up to 17 points in the first month of the season. These are "Johnny Gaudreau" numbers and he's only a sophomore.

You keep waiting for this kid to 'plateau', but it ain't happening so far.

It's interesting how similar Madden's current point per game avg is with Adam gaudette at the same age. Gaudette opted to stay in college for 1 more year and if Madden still needs to build on that slight frame of his, it might be a good idea for him to do the same

His bio is an interesting read:

Madigan on Madden: "When you look at Tyler, you look at a highly skilled, intelligent two-way player. People get enamored with his offense and his offensive ability, which they should because they're at a high level, but he plays a 200-foot game and he's got grit. When you look at his body makeup, it's like Dylan Sikura: a 5'10'' frame on 155 pounds. There are some similarities between their two games, and I don't want to make unfair predictions for Tyler because of what Sikura's did here, but Tyler has the ability to be that high end offensive player over four years. Tyler is someone who we expect to come in and be in our top six forwards right off the bat and contribute offensively. He's in that category with some of our other forwards who have had tremendous success here. We expect big things."

written before the season ... and 11 goals in 13 games is impressive. One of his teammates is Selanne's son, who I don't believe has a point this season.

must be super tough to play the same sport as your superstar father. You would always feel like you are failing.

I'm not really getting the comparisons between Madden and Dylan Sikura....other than the fact they're similar sizes. Sikura a winger and Madden a center and no comparison in terms of the speed Madden generates through the neutral zone.

I get the comparisons to Gaudette, who was a natural center as well. But even as a sophomore, Madden is making plays at higher speed imo.

DiPietro looking very good as a rookie professional which is not easy for a 20-year-old goalie to do. Another solid game today to get the win for Utica.

Aidan McDonough may be comparable to gaudette's old linemate Nolan stevens

Cool... Gadjovich, my favourite long-shot, is back!
Yes im rooting for him too. Love the character and toughness of Gadjo. I see him as a guy that probably makes it (as a 4th liner) just due to his work ethic and comptete at some point. Thought it was way too harsh all the comments about him being done as a prospect right after people watched him this training camp. Big hurdle to overcome his skating issues but we really need to have some 4th line types in the system coming in hungry and fired up

the comparison is by the northeastern coach comparing two talented players he has coached of similar size.

I know this has been said before, but I can't tell you how much I appreciate the work you do to get these summaries up. TY for the time and effort.

My feelings too... although I still hold out a vain hope that one day he puts it all together enough that he can play on Petey’s wing... drive the net, score a bunch of 1 inch goals and punch out anyone who looks at Pettersson sideways.
