Which is worse McSorley on Brashear or This incident? I know probably the former but this was pretty ****ing bad
This takes the cake. It EASILY could have resulted in a death on the field.

As bad as McSorley - Brashear was or Hunter - Turgeon were, it was not this.

Hilarious hearing some people call for a lifetime ban.
Why? You don't take off someone else's most important protective piece of equipment and then proceed to use it as a weapon to try to inflict serious harm to the most important part of their body. If you snap, you throw punches or kicks or whatever, happens often in the NFL. What he did was a whole new ball game and needs to be treated as such.

Calling this "serious harm" is like saying that the California wildfires were just a small cooking fire. I know you did not mean it that way, but he could have had been killed.

If he was to do that on the streets, he gets arrested for aggravated assault at the bare minimum and does jail time. If he was to cause death, which was a real possibility, now he is going away for a very long time on the charges of manslaughter. Yeah, a lifetime ban sounds about right.

Wait what? Did you actually watch the whole play?

Yeah I did. Rudolph gets driven into the ground. Then tries to rip off Myles Garrett helmet ferociously. Garrett rips off Rudolph helmet. The Castro starts to take Myles Garrett away and Rudolph keeps pursuing him actually getting right up into his face before Garrett swings the helmet on to his head.

It's not like he ran after the guy, Rudolph got right up into him before he swung that helmet which of course was wrong. It was absolutely assault but what the hell is Rudolph doing trying to pull that guy's helmet off and then going after him once his helmet is off.

Suspend everybody, set an example, that was not a good look NFL.....

That ain't what happened. Garrett made a late hit and deliberately planted the QB into the ground long after the ball was out and then just laid on top of him. Rudolph aggressively tried to get him off. What exactly are you suspending him for? Was he supposed to ask politely? And I don't think Pouncy deserved more than a game or that Ogunjobi and Rudolph deserved anything more than a fine, if that. This is entirely on Garrett. Scraps like this happen all the time where defensive players sit on top of the pile to kill the clock and the guys on the bottom of the pile take exception. None of those ever lead to suspensions because some maniac doesn't rip off a player's helmet and try to kill him with it.

What? The McSorely play was far worse than this. This was a helmet to the head. Not a stick from behind. How can you even say that Garrett's was worse? McSorely's was from behind and Brashear could have died if he had a looser helmet.

Garrett should be out of the league for that. It is a miracle that he did not cave the skull in. Moreso, no matter what, i would have charged brought up for that. Do that on the street and it is aggravated assault. I am all for hard hits and love football, but he needs to be out of the league forever.

A bit extreme. Results matter as well - attempted assault? What are you charging him with? I think the remainder of this season and 4-6 games next season is fair. I don’t want the guy to lose his livelihood, but that’s money he’ll never get back and will severely effect his career going forward. Suh has done comparable nonsense.

Rudolph started it. Just saying, everyone's acting like he's so innocent yet he's the one that tried to pull the guy's helmet off first.

5 game suspension, but the nfl will give him more than that.

I wouldn’t say Rudolph is blameless, but that’s like saying you push someone and they shoot you in the face. Push might have instigated it, but that doesn’t mean you get to blow the guys head off

Let's not get crazy. Kareem Hunt is currently playing for the browns. Players. are getting 4-8 game bans for doing things that are much worse.

I have to think Rudolph said something to cause Garrett to go off like that.

Im sure he did. I’m also sure nasty stuff gets said all the time without similar results

Or maybe Garret's just wrapped too tight for living? There was 10 seconds left in a game that was already decided. Why is he hitting the QB borderline late & making the extra effort to wrap him up & take him to the ground hard at that point? Then he has his entire body weight on him not allowing him to get up. You don't think that started it?

There are so many bad coaches, bad teams, bad offensive lines, and bad kickers in this league, I don't remember it being this bad back in the day. the NFL really is a garbage league when you look at it, worst in North America. 4-5 teams that are always good save for 1 or 2 surprises and then 20+ trashfires. Not to mention the commercial overload and the DISGRACEFUL referees. The NFL is lucky that America loves football because they don't deserve their success.

I won’t fault him for playing hard until the whistle blows. I’ll obviously fault him and suspend him for crossing the line.

The downtrend in offensive line play is from HS to college to the pros. That's been a long, long chain.
