Completely forgot about Haskins lolIs Washington taking a QB?

If Chase young falls to Jets theyll either take him or trade the spot.Doing a quick and dirty look at the standings, it's actually quite possible that Chase Young could end up a Giant next April. Every team likely to finish above them (Cincy, Washington, Miami, Jets?) will all go for QB's except for the Jets, whom should take Jeudy or another WR. Question is, do one of these teams leverage the Giants into trading up and still grab their QB of choice?
Barkley is an extremely frustrating player. He cannot block. He refuses to initiate contact. He cannot adapt his game at all (he keeps dancing today when he needs to go forward). All the problems that some of us saw at PSU are rearing their ugly heads today.
Gettleman failed him by not molding the offensive line how Barkley needs it. But I expect more from a #2 draft pick. A lot more.
You were always going to expect a lot more from #2 pick when you spend it on a running back.

Yup. The Giants should have either taken a QB or trade down if they didn't like any of them. I'm pretty sure they could have gotten a good haul from a team that would want to jump the Jets for Darnold.
Is this actually still a thing after seeing Daniel Jones have more success than just about any QB in the 2018 draft class? The only one you can make a real argument for is Josh Allen, and he was never going to actually be the QB pick at 2 if they went QB anyway. Seems like they chose correctly to wait and wound up with a better QB for it (so far). Everyone is still young and things could change, but as of now, if there was a redraft from the last two draft classes, it'd probably be Murray and then either Allen or Jones at #2.
Uh, one can easily make the case for Darnold over Barkley. To me, the answer was Darnold/Allen or trade down.
Yet the moron thought Manning could still play.
Okay. And Darnold means no Jones, and Jones has been better. So what's the problem other than living in the past?
Except Jones has not really been better, but that's beside the point. You simply don't take an RB that high with how devalued the position is. Same reason that as good as Jamal Adams is, he shouldn't have been drafted that high either.
I don't know about that. I mean Jones has more weapons at WR than Darnold does but overall it seems Darnold does not have the effectiveness beyond 15-20 yards that Jones does. I still feel neither guy is going to be elite category NFL QB but they can both be pretty good like a Flacco or McNabb type but anyone who thinks Brady/Brees/Ben/Favre is walking through the door as one of these 2 I don't think its occurring.
Slow rebuild in football is disastrous. By the time you need to pony up $ for your premium players you better hope to already be a contender cuz it's downhill from there based on past history. Winning on cheap contracts is all the rage in sports nowadays for good reason. It's definitely still way too early to be claiming whether Jones or Darnold is the pick.
And for me, personally, the jury is still out on Jones. My issues have, and continue to remain, around Gettleman's use of draft capital. He doesn't seem to care to try and maximize his assets at all. His draft philosophy seems to exist almost independent of his draft position. You wind up with the spot you get and you pick your favorite player if he's on the board when your turn comes up regardless of what any other teams seem to be doing. And why wouldn't you? You're Dave Gettleman, rightful heir to the Giants throne and smarter than every other guy in the room.
All signs for me point to a slow rebuild.

Hindsight's a killer. The Jets needed a QB but took a safety over Mahomes or Watson. Adams is a stud but those are possibly generational QBs.Yes I'd rather have Jones than Darnold but that's with what I know now. Even if you don't take a quarterback, you can trade down. Jets gave up the #6 pick that ended up being Quenton Nelson and 3 2nd round picks for the #3 pick. For a team that has as many holes as this one does I would much rather have the package of picks than any running back, even one as talented as Saquon.
