There are so many bad coaches, bad teams, bad offensive lines, and bad kickers in this league, I don't remember it being this bad back in the day. the NFL really is a garbage league when you look at it, worst in North America. 4-5 teams that are always good save for 1 or 2 surprises and then 20+ trashfires. Not to mention the commercial overload and the DISGRACEFUL referees. The NFL is lucky that America loves football because they don't deserve their success.
All the rules limiting practice in the off season has really allowed the coaches separate themselves from each other. Bad coaches got exponentially worse and the good coaches took a hit but figured out ways to adjust and compensate. Less practice time also allows the skill players to make fools of less skilled players. The end result is the bottom feeders looking like subpar college teams compared to the upper tier. 'Any given Sunday' is not so true anymore.

Also, with fewer and fewer parents letting their kids play football expect the disparity to only increase from here.

No idea how large your family is, but if you had a younger sibling that had his skull caved in with a foot ball helmet, would you still be as sanguine knowing that if that was done on the street the preparator was going away for a long time?

Would you still be singing *** ba ya?

You love these what if - hypothetical scenarios. Rudolph’s head wasn’t caved in and he’s not someone’s mother or little brother that was attacked walking down the street. I wouldn’t be happy if Garrett performed a legal NFL tackle on my mother while she was walking into the laundromat either. It’s a professional football field. Again, I’m not defending the guy but your made up scenarios are just that.

Stick to helmet is not the samething as helmet to bare head,

For reference what do you suppose a 10 pound dumbell to the head would do?

Did he use a hammer or dumbbell as you have stated? In the end both players are lucky this situation didn’t turn out a lot worse.

As for Mcsorley/Brashear and I’ll throw in the Bertuzzi incident we’re as bad and probably worse due to the extent of the victims injuries. Those aren’t what if scenarios.

The reason I named a scenario is because it was a hair away from happening. Had he hit him with the side and not the crown, the conversation today is different. So having dodged a bullet, in no way exonerates him. If someone was driving a car at you and hit a pothole and only clipped you as opposed to hitting you full on, does that somehow exonerate him?

He used a helmet which would have caved in his skull if hit with a slightly different angle. Does it really matter if the victim was dead or mostly dead at that point?

Playing out a what if scenario that was a hair away from happening is not exactly the same thing as playing out a what if scenario that is completely hypothetical. Was there an incident? Yes. Was a weapon used in attacking someone? Yes. Would the damage to the victim been substantial possibly terminal were int not for a few inches? Yes.

What are we talking about?

You keep saying this as if it's indisputable fact. Has it ever happened before that you're aware of?
Has anyone ever ripped off a helmet during a game and whacked someone unprotected head and caused a skull fracture? Can't say that I heard of that being a major occurrence.

I have also never seen anyone get shot from the front with a speargun at a football game before. But am pretty sure of what the outcome would be.

Hilarity?

Gettleman can't possibly be planning on giving up picks at the top of the 3rd and 4th rounds for Leonard Williams? Right? ....RIGHT?!?!

So instead it will just be a top of the 3rd round pick and a top of the 5th round pick for ~8 games from Williams in a lost season??

Going into a draft with a team riddled with holes...

Awesome.

Other than the dark ages where I literally didn't know of a successful Rangers team and thus just assumed they'll never be good, this is the most helpless I've felt in sports. The Giants are unequivocally a bottom 5 franchise and I don't care about ancient Super Bowls.

Giants would have been better off not even starting a left tackle on that strip sack. At least then ud know that u cant even drop back to throw. Solder didnt even get a hand on Khalil mack. Get the f*** out of here with that effort

“Ancient”. The Giants have won 3 Super Bowls in my lifetime and 2 of them in my adult life and I’m only 30.
