If GT came to the NFL prior to being tested it comes off as sincere. At that point he may not be tested within the time frame to show positive results so he's offering himself up on a platter to the NFL when he might have been able to slide by without saying anything. If it were a standard PED he took to bulk up/recover or whatever, why would he come to the NFL before getting tested? Don't take it in the first place if you're so worried abt potential testing, it's silly if it wasn't for fertility reasons. But if he owned up after being tested then he's in the same bin as everyone else saying they didn't know and is full of crap.

I've officially convinced myself that in my big $$ fantasy football auction where each of us 12 owners have $200 to spend for the first time since Curtis Martin played for the Jets, I will be spending what ever needs to be spent to have Le'Veon Bell on my roster.

Everything I've seen in training highlights and interviews from the coaches, players and Bell himself leads me to believe he has a bit of a chip on his shoulder and he's going to do whatever needs to be done to prove he was worth the cash the Jets put out to get him.

I think he's going to have a monster season as in double digit TD's and anywhere from 1600-1900 combined yards as he ends up being Darnolds favorite player and insurance policy when he's on the move. Maybe I'm wrong but I doubt it as I've been really successful at this fantasy shit over the years having won alot of money and garnered quite a few titles but I have a real strong feeling Bell will be part of alot of championship winning fantasy teams and will be a big reason why the Jets along with the 49ers will be two of the most improved teams in the NFL this season.

Darnold gonna have an awesome year.

Jets need to bring in someone other than Catanzaro. I was okay letting Myers go, but damn do they need help there.

Wow, Darnold and Jones both had impressive series.

And Mayfield too.

You are so right. Very solid starts for all three of them. I might be in the minority but I actually think Darnold will end up being startable fantasy wise by mid season. He's got the weapons and now that the interior of the Oline looks alot more improved wth Kalil in the mix, Darnold is going to put up some sweet #'s. He'll be on one for sure if not both of my $$ fantasy teams this year.

Every year I forget how painfully boring preseason football is and I get all hyped... then the game comes on and a forget when it starts so i miss the half minute where any player i give a f*** about is playing and then have to watch a bunch of scrubs play slop ball for nearly 4 quarters.

Wake me up when August ends.

QB situation in Denver will still not be solved this season, afaic. Don't trust Flacco one bit and Lock looks stiff.

Hard Knocks is funny this year. Gruden seems so tame in comparison to the Tampa times and that #24 rookie safety is such a tool.

Jones looked great, as good as can be expected. Was that against the Jets 1st or 2nd team defense?

Obviously it's early etc. etc. but he was able to pick his receiver, stare them down with protection, wait, wait for the opening and then zinged it perfectly on time. Now just do that while looking off the defenders and I'll be REALLY impressed.

It was about 2/3 second string defense. There were a few starters there. Although the first string was also missing Leonard Williams.

Trumaine Johnson hammy injury...not good. Jets secondary to me is going to be their downfall. They simply don't have enough good players back there. I'm not talking about Jamal Adams obviously...he's a stud. It's pretty much everyone else.

Our new GM Joe Douglass is going to be need pull a rabbit out of his ass like he did getting Kalil to unretire which helped the Oline enormously.

Not really sure what Douglass can do at this point of the season other than pick up another teams shit that they don't want on waivers. Hopefully DC Williams can figure out a way we can compensate for this. Would help alot if our 3rd pick Polite can end up being a solid edge rusher...we'll see but I'm holding my breath.

Let's not forget that he was missing his 3 best weapons from a team that will never be confused with the Greatest Show on Turf to begin with.

I get it. The Jets had no Williams, Maye, or McLendon. The Giants were missing a bunch of guys, too. It's why I don't really put much stock into any of the results. If you've watched football for more than a few years, you've probably gotten hyped about a dozen or so guys who blow up the preseason and then never contribute anything in the regular season. You see the 2-3-4 units out there, everyone is playing their most vanilla offense and defense, etc. It's hard to evaluate. You're not watching guys who will be in the NFL and you're not watching many plays that will be run with regularity.

The Jets ran a defensive and the Giants ran an offensive neither will run when they meet in the regular season.

No one thinks this proves anything, but he showed encouraging signs to argue otherwise is disingenuous.

I'll say it again, love alot of the things Jets have done in the offseason and I do think we are improved no question but the CB situation is really getting me very nervous as I think opposing QB's are going to burn our secondary for big chunks of yardage and force us into blitzing way too much for our good which in turn will have us needing to come from behind in quite a few of our games this year....simply not good!!

It's just the reality of the situation we have here. And like I've said before as well, I have the utmost confidence in Douglass to eventually fix this dire situation as I believe like Gorton has done along with JD now being added to the mix for support has done with the Rangers which gives me supreme confidence that Gorton/JD combo are the right guys to lead our Rongos and that we are on the right track to the promised land, I just don't think Douglass has enough time fix what ails the Jets and I don't think it's going to happen this year.

I'm sure Douglass will find a few band aids along the way like he did with Kalil for our O-Line but we are really in a tough spot as our secondary is going to get torched big time. Sure DC Greg Williams will try and find some ways to circumvent this but the reality is, we simply don't have the talent on the back end other than Adams to stop this which is why despite all the improvements we made on offense, the addition of Mosley, in big spots and in key situations, it's predictable our secondary is going to get torched and will end up being the biggest problem for the Jets this season and why we end up around 8-8 instead of 10-6 or so and garnering a playoff spot.

Hopefully I'm wrong but I sincerely doubt it. As I said, it's very likely going to need another year before Douglass can fix what looks like to me one of the worst secondary's in the NFL.

We are getting to get absolutely torched by opposing QB's this year and I can see us in alot of 35-31 type games. Wish I didn't think this way but I have to face the facts as do the rest of my Jet brothers.

Would love for someone to try and convince me otherwise or that I'm just being overly paranoid but I doubt you can...lol

The reality is, even if it was an honest mistake, if you start fertility treatment (read: hormones) without checking to see if it's all clear, you're an idiot. That's an egregious oversight and it's hard to buy anyone's pleas of ignorance on that.

Totally agree. Players need to make sure what they are putting in their bodies is ok. Given the financial risk to your reputation I don’t think I’d even take protein powder without confirming there was nothing weird in it that might show up. It’s not worth the risk...unless of course you are cheating

It’s honestly why I hold skepticism about his reasoning.

And on top of all that, there is some pretty close precedent with Robert Mathis and the shield still upheld his suspension.
