If nothing else, you gotta love Laughton's "angry face". He becomes a DreamWorks Animation character.

While they have struggled at times and both been injured multiple on occasions, I don't buy the idea that the only place Raffl and Laughton should be is the 4th line.

They're producing as well as Caps 3rd liners Panik and Hagelin, who also have longer and more expensive contracts.

Both are fine 3rd line wingers at this point. I don't mind Raffl at 4C. Laughton has been bad at 3C this year.

Raffl and Laughton are both good players but I definitely don't want to see Laughton back at center. Raffl can play in a shut down role with Couts against other teams top line with his ability to defend and board play, but he would be preferred at 4w for me and move up for injuries.

So you want to go on record saying signing Hayes to his deal was a very good thing, correct?

And I was talking about right now obviously since I mentioned Bunny. But you know that and wanted to go a different way.
BS. You were blaming management for the lack of center depth when, in fact, the lack of center depth has been caused by a medical issue that has caused Patrick to miss the season, & which would be FAR worse if management hadn’t signed Hayes.

It’s not management’s fault they need more C depth. It’s actually to management’s benefit that they only need one depth center instead of also a middle six C, to boot.

This is, once again, about you being miffed Frost isn’t playing & greatly overrating his ability to be a solid 2-way NHL C as a skinny 20 y/o rookie.

Hence why they're used where they are. And the Capitals don't have their star prospect in the AHL right now. That's the crux of the argument. It's not that Laughton and Raffl are disasters like we've been lucky enough to have in our top 9 this decade. The Capitals also average half a goal/game more than us.

I pretty clearly said I'm okay with Raffl in the top 9 as a support piece, particularly with Hayes (who he is not with). Not both. And not both when Frost is plying his trade on a disaster AHL team, hindering the team and himself. If all this trade talk is geared towards acquiring a bottom 6 center (let alone a 4C), it doesn't pass the smell test with our in-house options. Frost at center, Giroux at center, Laughton at 4C. Many options present.

What the 3rd line really needs is for Hayes to stop getting scored on so damn much.

Player Season Totals - Natural Stat Trick

Hayes 23 GF - 40 GA

Couturier 39 GF - 23 GA

It's weird because I don't recall many goals he was responsible for this season. Could be the fact that he is sometimes playing with bottom 6 calibre wingers.

His 95.2 PDO is partially to blame. Hopefully the numbers start to even out in the 2nd half. His career PDO is 100.9.

Well which one is it....because you contradicted yourself.

Am I blaming Mgt for the lack of C depth due to medical reasons, or for the Frost dumb demotion reason. You are talking out your ass all while inhaling what you are passing.

If they recall Frost, their C depth is fixed with Raffl or Laughton as the #4C. Mgt has chosen that a 30+point #3C is not enough. But hey, maybe we can get your 3 point in 40 game Jank who you said could be our #3C if they want to move G to wing.

You do you...."impartial" one.

Jankowiski’s career shooting% going into this season: 14.29
Jankowski’s Shooting% this season: 8.33

Didn’t know his shooting luck was that much in the crapper this season. Wild stuff

If the team elects to pay to fix a problem they created and that can be fixed for free, it would be an excellent exhibit of the practices that have prevented much contention in the Cap Era.

People keep acting like we have to wait and see IF Chuckles overpays for a center  Meanwhile, Summer 2019 is sitting here like "Uh, hello?"

Lmao at that lazy paraphrasing. Par for the course. You’re blaming management & ignoring that Patrick’s medical issue, which they have no control over, is the main reason for their lack of center depth. And also ignoring that they made a crucial C signing in Hayes, which many here criticized, but which has greatly mitigated the damage caused by Patrick’s injury.

So you’re blaming management when the C depth this season would be MUCH worse if many posters, like you, would have had their way & not signed Hayes.

So your blaming management for the need for depth center is really just out of bitterness for wanting Frost up, who is not ready to be an impact 2 way center in the NHL yet.
