The difference is that COVID-19 could be as contagious or more as the normal flu, but with the potential to kill 10x the people.

I don't think it will, because we are starting to practice social distancing, which is the enemy of the flu.

However, keep in mind that you are comparing an entire year's of fatalities to a couple months worth. Coronoavirus is just starting, we're only at the initial infection stage. COVID-19 has exponential growth. This will be the story of the year, not just the Spring.

The incubation period also is going to assist with the spread since people "feel fine" while they are contagious.

atp tennis is shut down for next six weeks all events worldwide canceled

french open may 24th still planned

shutdown is till april 22nd

the princess cruise ships out of miami to shut down for 60 days if already scheduled or running for next 5 days will finish runs

Apparently F1 of all sports is the one that's set so not suspend their events. You know, the sport where you travel between 20 different countries from March till November. One team has withdrawn from the season opener this weekend though as a member of their staff tested positive.

They have previously suspended the Chinese GP, which was supposed to be the 4th race of the season in April. They're also planning to race with empty crowds in Bahrain.

It has already been horrible PR for the sport as you'd expect.

big 10 just canceled the tournament ..... so this is beyond the ncaa tournament which is still set to play with no public.... big 10 canceled their private championship WOW one day difference can they cancel march madness? crazzzyy

SEC caneled rest of their tournament which just started yesterday i believe following the big 10
