I forgot how much crying, pissing, moaning & whining there was from the Coyotes.

The whole squad, top down. Such a level of entitlement, loser mentality.

Love that era Kings, just put down the lunch pails and went to work.

You'd think more folks would like us for shutting up the Canucks and Coyotes in particular

Most of the hate comes from their fans anyhow. Plus bitter Sharks fans. I think most Blues and Hawks fans were a lot more pleasant to deal with. At least on these boards. I know at Staples Center there’s been quite a few obnoxious bandwagon Hawks fans in attendance.

They didn't get that Cryotes nickname for nothin'. And if at the best of times, your attendance percentage is equivalent to a C+ or B- grade, shut the hell up and attend your games in person.

Now if someone could upload the games from 2001. Up until 2012, this was the most celebrated playoff series at Staples Center.

The second picture is one of the best Deadmarsh memories. Red Wing fans were so full of themselves in those days.

I always wonder how Deadmarsh’s career would have gone if those darn concussions wouldn’t have happened.

They pushed the Avs to 7 games again in 2002, but by the time they reached Game 7, Deadmarsh was done, Allison was banged up, as was Philippe Boucher who had emerged as a top 3-4 defenseman that season. And in a move that was expected of the Kings back then, they lowballed Boucher and let him go sign with a Western Conference rival where he went on to have more success.

I'm sure Texas still had the better tax situation back then. They were bringing in everyone. Was there a free agent they didn't sign? Not that the Kings went all out to re-sign Boucher.

The Stars were one of the more aggressive teams in trying to lure free agents, but I don’t think they grossly overpaid for Boucher, who signed for four years at $9.3M total, which is $2,325,000 per year. The Kings were only offering three years at $6M.

Four-Year Contract, Coach Lured Boucher to Dallas

The writing was on the wall though with the Kings when it came to spending, they were a frugal team then and wanted to operate like a small market team. Tim Leiweke always moaned about player salaries, and so the biggest free agent signings in those years would be the likes of Steve Heinze and Trent Klatt.

They did great signing Mathieu Schneider in 2000, but back when he was signed, Schneider was looking to bounce back after a couple of rough seasons in New York and Toronto.
