We’re talking about Cernak and how dumb and shortsighted it was to give up a young dman freshly drafted by the team to rent a backup goalie for five games. What does that trade have to do with what happened 6-8 years ago? You are really reaching far to defend a stupid trade that paid zero dividends.
 
Lewis and Wagner two of my favorite players this year. The skill from these two are unmatched.

I'm not defending the trade. Said it was bad.

Just noted the lack of the "wouldn't be good on the Kings" excuse and that the usual Blake suspects were quick to post all about it.

The Kings sent him back to juniors and he was rarely discussed much. As others pointed out, LaDue/Gravel/Mckeown were the hot prospects on D.
 
the desperation plays were way too desperate in that last attack

kopi's shot was the definition of an "i'm done trying" shot

He was 19 when he was traded... It is fairly usual for 19 year olds to go back to juniors. Where were you expecting him to go? He probably wasn't discussed much because we barely ahd him in our system before trading him away.

Outside of McKeown, neither of those two had any of the prospect hype that Cernak did. Those two were 5th and 6th round picks respectively.
 
My first home game since the Blues have in December.

Wish I pushed it out further. Such a horrible product. Worst I've witnessed.

Cernak wasn't hyped at all and when he was traded it barely raised a ripple.

From 2010-2016 he was the 4th highest draft pick that the Kings had. I would hope that the Kings thought highly of him. or are you telling me that in a season and a half the Kings forgot what they liked?
 
And yeah it would be nice to have Cernak right now but for all we know if we kept him we’d be bitching right now how LaDue just scored on us and we kept that bum Cernak instead. It certainly doesn’t hurt him that he’s surrounded by TB’s talent.

There was a lot of gloating and back slapping once Sutter (he got ripped to shreds on here) and DL were sent packing. We were told they were outdated, and all we needed to do was add speed, demand less and have a player friendly environment. That was supposed to be their recipe for a winning culture.

Annual cup contenders they said.

Lol these guys in charge now don’t have a clue what they are doing.
