I think they'll be adding a few more 4-6 round picks when they deal Hutton, Lewis and Ryan.
Hopefully Forbort garners a 3rd+
I think we should be happy if TT can return a 2nd, dude is just a guy. Absolutely nothing special about him.
I think AMart will return the most with a 2nd+ prospect. He will be missed the most out of this list.

Realistically the Kings can only afford to deal two defenseman without harming the development of the kids who just aren't ready in Ontario, even if it is only a few months.

Doughty, Roy, Walker, MacDermid, Clague called up plus...? Bjornfot? Hell no, he needs reps and big minutes. Anderson is having troubles with AHL reads, no need to risk his confidence. Brickley? He has barely played this year.

Can't deal Martinez, Forbort, Hutton and Ryan without getting at least two more defenders back.

Nope, deal em all except maybe 1 of those 4.
LaDue and Clague can come up. They can hold onto Ryan if they don't want another 6th round pick.
Leaves you with DD, Walker, Roy, Clague, MacD, Ryan and LaDue. That's plenty for the remainder of the season and you're not ruining the development of anyone. Have DD8 babysit Clague if it worries you.
Is it bad? They're in lasting F...... place now, wtf does it matter?

Not ashamed to admit I get a bit choked up still watching these. Just ****ing awesome.

I could watch it on a continuous loop 24/7

Yes, the Kings are a dumpster fire now, but no one can take away those 2 Cups, thankful I was alive and kicking to see them win these. Never figured I would see the day they won one, let alone two.

LaDue, Strand, Brickley. Hell, bring up Stanton. I don't think all of those guys will be moved, but if there are offers out there I think the Kings can find a way to manage.

I doubt Blake will be able to find enough suitors to trade 4 defenseman. He can probably pull off trading Martinez and one of Hutton/Forbort, but given that he's also going to be trying to find homes for a few forwards he's not going to be able to cut everyone loose.

8 games until the deadline, just hope these guys don't suffer any injuries. I would suspect the potential for the Kings to not dress AMart and/or Toffoli a game or two before the deadline, especially the back to back on Feb 22/23 versus Colorado and Edmonton.

The laundry list we have heard of teams alleged to be interested in Martinez and I'm probably missing another 2-3:

Vegas
Carolina
Winnipeg
Florida
Nashville
Calgary
Colorado
Edmonton

Blake should do well here getting a pretty darn good return.

Once Martinez is traded, we need to see Forbort back with Doughty to showcase him. If there is any way to even get a 7th round pick for him, you have to make that deal. Maybe there is a Kubalik type situation out there that the Kings can make work in there favor.

I'd rather keep him if its anything less than a 3rd/4th

It was an idea. I didn't say it was a good idea.

Not much talk about Ryan, Forbort or Hutton. I'm much more hopeful that two of these three get moved than Martinez. Extra good if they return prospects instead of picks. Not good to draft a dozen kids in a year. They all get bunched up and there won't be enough room in Ontario in a couple of years. I would prefer the Kings target prospects currently playing in the AHL.

You have to think Blake will package some picks to move up here and there as well.

I did forget LaDue in that mix, he is the logical call up, but if you think that being last place means you throw kids to the wolves in this dire, depressing siuatuon, you are doing FAR more harm than good.

Not sure what "kids" I'm throwing to the wolves? Clague? Pair him with DD.
Walker is 25 with 94 NHL games
Roy is soon to be 25 with 80 NHL games
Ryan is 26 with 135 NHL games
LaDue is 27

Not sure who gets ruined if Hutton, Forbort and Amart get moved. No one is saying to dress Clague-Bjornfot-Anderson-Durzi-Strand-Brickley as our 6 dmen.
There's 27 games left. Give some games to Clague and the others for a taste. No one will get ruined, it'll be ok.

I'd be curious to see if any teams would be looking to shed some veteran contracts for un-met conditional 7ths. There's got to be a player or two out there that we can acquire for nothing just to plug a hole and avoid calling up too many kids.

We ought to be able to find something like Hutton to Tampa for Luke Schenn + Pick

Yeah that shit ain't happening..
I cant and wont even take the time to type out just how terrible that would be. You guys really need some clarity on not just the state of our team but the Reign as well.
The kids need no more than a cup of coffee this season, period! they need to remain in Ontario, fight for a playoffs spot, build chemistry, work on their skill set and craft and continue to show progress... That's it!

Hutton and Lewis at 50% for Galchenyuk + 3rd?

I don't think Blake should do this unless he get the other GM to stock his soda machine for three years.

Again, I have not seen anyone including myself say to dress an all rookie teenage mutant defense. There's 27 games left. Please re-read my post that you quoted. Give Clague and some others a taste is what I wrote. Clarity is right. Trading any of Hutton, Forbort, Amart and Ryan will not force LA to play 6 kids. At most they'd have to recall LaDue and 1 other, how terrible...
In fact, keep all those guys. LA's playing so well with them.

Oh I read it, But it's about not having them in whatever toxic environment the Kings are in currently.
You cant really recall LaDue because much like Frk, he's one of the stabilizing pillars on a very green D Corp in Ontario. I'd rather throw Brickley out there because he's older and more physically and mentally mature than Toby, Mikey or Clague.
What we need to do try aim high for our returns, too much is being made of gathering as many picks as possible.. It likely wont happen but i'd love to see guys like Martin Kaut, Aleski Heponiemi, Eeli Tovalen, Bobby Brink, John Beecher and even a Jesse Puljujarvi be targeted.. Guys than can help in Ontario and still be able to compete for a roster spot next camp.

Nichushkin was pretty awful last season in Dallas and I believe he was bought out by them. Sakic took a flyer on him and he’s been alright this year. He had a pretty good stretch of games recently but outside of that he’s been pretty mediocre.

Donskoi was an UFA signing and never had scored more than 15 goals in a season coming into this year. If I’m a free agent, I’m likely to choose Colorado as they are an up and coming club over LA who isn’t in a position to succeed for sometime. Kings haven’t always had the most successful dealings in the free agent market.

I would suspect if those two were in LA, they would be struggling. I don’t believe they would be any better than what we currently have.

The one I do agree with you on is Burakovsky. Classic example of a guy needing a change of scenery and an opportunity to assert himself into a bigger role with expanded minutes. Just never seemed to get that shot in Washington. Sakic paid a 2nd and 3rd and took a bit of a gamble which has paid off in spades.

Burakovsky is a talented player and is starting to understand the league better at 24. He should be a 55 point player this year with the potential to maintain that going forward with the Avs.

Would have been tough to pay that price the Avs paid to acquire him.

Hello - this was a great and in depth response and deserves a reply from me....sorry, on this day, my brother face timed our mother in the care home she was at last 18 months in Monrovia...
and he wanted me to see how bad she had turned, since Christmas...so I got an emergency flight out to LA and from Denver and made it by 36 hours, to her passing. (I saw your response, but had to go to airport)
It is horrible for all of us...but I got to be by her side and she was coherent until 7 PM Tuesday...and faded and was pronounced dead at 10 PM. The best mom ever and
a generational human being - a level above Kyle Clifford....I would say. She loved everyone and loved well. Argh. never seen so many people cry.

Um...hard to read this response again, but you are accurate...should be noted, that despite Nichushkin doing nothing for the Stars, the Avs had to have seen him in Russia
and thought highly enough to sign him...so kudos to them. Think he's had 8 or 9 goals last 27 games, after a slow start.

I hope to be back posting soon...had to fly back to Denver and work today...only to fly back with my sons and daughter in law to LA again nest Wednesday for the funeral.
