Based on how much Clifford/Campbell returned, I can't see Martinez going for that little. It seems to be a sellers market this year.

No a lot out there and with rumblings Jean-Gabriel Pageau might re-sign with Ottawa I have to imagine that will drive up Toffoli's price a tad.

Also, Marty has another year signed at a cap friendly hit. I'd hope he'd be traded for at least a 2nd and prospect.

Blake should hang on to see if any bidding wars instead of selling right now.

I agree fully. According to Friedman there are a number of teams looking into Martinez, with the extra year being considered extremely valuable.

Marty can slide into a teams top 2 and is signed for this year and the next for an extremely cap friendly hit of $4 million.

Not sure there is a better bang for your buck D or any contract for that matter out there like that.

Marty keeps surprising =_)

Would anyone be surprised if AMart returned more in a trade than TT? I'm beginning to think it's possible, maybe even likely. Both are winners, but that extra year on his contract could swing it.

Jets fan here, what's the scoop on Martinez?

- ideally a 3rd pair defenseman
- if he's in your top 4, your top 3 needs to be very good, individually, and collectively
- can play either side, but you'd rather not have him on the right side

Hopefully we get a first and prospects, similar to the Muzzin trade but I doubt it.

He's not as good as Muzzin, so unless there's a weak market and/or at least one team is desperate, then the expectation should be less than the Muzzin return. Shouldn't be disappointed if he doesn't bring back 3 assets like that. Maybe had he been traded at the 2014 draft, at the height of his career. Sort of a "wow, this guy can score big goals in the playoffs" strike while the iron is hot momentum.

It's possible with the extra year and a bidding war that Martinez pulls a 1st and small extra.

But I still think we're looking most likely at 2 2nds worth of value. If someone offers more than that, you've gotta trade him within 48 hours.

I think they'll be adding a few more 4-6 round picks when they deal Hutton, Lewis and Ryan.
Hopefully Forbort garners a 3rd+
I think we should be happy if TT can return a 2nd, dude is just a guy. Absolutely nothing special about him.
I think AMart will return the most with a 2nd+ prospect. He will be missed the most out of this list.

1 second round pick and a legit 20-23 year old prospect would be an outstanding haul for Amart with up to $1m retained salary. I would target BPA over forward vs D.

If we’re picking from Winnipeg you have to hope for Vesalainen or maybe Roslovic.

Calgary has Valimaki who is injured and maybe Sam Bennet.

8 games until the deadline, just hope these guys don't suffer any injuries. I would suspect the potential for the Kings to not dress AMart and/or Toffoli a game or two before the deadline, especially the back to back on Feb 22/23 versus Colorado and Edmonton.

The laundry list we have heard of teams alleged to be interested in Martinez and I'm probably missing another 2-3:

Vegas
Carolina
Winnipeg
Florida
Nashville
Calgary
Colorado
Edmonton

Blake should do well here getting a pretty darn good return.

Just to remind all you would-be GMs from other teams. Daryl Sutter wishes he was Alec Martinez.

Not ashamed to admit I get a bit choked up still watching these. Just f***ing awesome.

I could watch it on a continuous loop 24/7

Yes, the Kings are a dumpster fire now, but no one can take away those 2 Cups, thankful I was alive and kicking to see them win these. Never figured I would see the day they won one, let alone two.
