Gonna be a sad day when jazz hands is no longer a King. But if there's a major need around the league for defensemen at the moment, and we can sell high on Martinez, let's do it.
Absolutely. Both he and Toffoli have over 500 games in a Kings uni, and they'll be brought back for Alumni stuff in the future but for now we gotta cash in on them.

If we can come away from the deadline with an additional 2-3 2nd round picks, that would be huge for the Kings. Gives them options to move up potentially, if it makes sense to.

The best case scenario is an additional first, second, and third this year. Between Toffoli, Martinez, Carter, Campbell, Lewis, and Hutton, I think we could do it.

NHL teams make crazy decisions at times. But none of those guys should return a first. If there is a first rounder that we can get out of that group of players I would expect it to be from AMart as imo he's the best of the bunch, with a reasonable contract that runs through next year.

If we can't get a first for Martinez then I think it makes sense to hold onto him as we can probably get a 2nd from him next year as a rental, barring injury.

Pacific division is weak. And if we inject some prospects into this talentless team we might actually be competing for a playoff spot next season. Some of our prospects (and next draft picks) represent massive upgrades on our roster. I don't think that is a crazy opinion.

best case scenario to me is getting Vancouver's first from Tampa and having Vancouver miss the playoffs.

I think it's possible to get an additional first. I doubt that any of our players would net it on their own but maybe as a package they would and also the Kings could take a cap dump back. For example Martinez/Toffoli + Campbell/Clifford/Lewis for a 1st and some overpaid roster player.

Agreed that both Toffoli and AMart will be missed by us fans and the team. The past few games both have been showcased, Toffoli with Kopitar and AMart with Drew. And they have both flourished with their new linemates/partners. What I'd like the Kings try and do is pilfer from other teams already drafted players, such as forward Nick Robertson from Toronto or right handed defenseman Kaedan Korczak from Vegas, both 2nd rounder's from the last draft. Sort of like what Tampa Bay did to us when they traded for already drafted defenseman Erik Cernak from the Kings.

Or something like: Toffoli + 3rd for a 1st and 3rd. If the Kings are picking 5th overall, their 3rd rd would be 67th and if a contending team was picking 27th, that team would be giving
up 27th overall and 89th overall for Toffoli and 67th. At least a team giving up their 1st, could move up 20ish spots in the 3rd rd. Makes a difference. Would not offer that, but to
try to get another 1st, would offer something like that. Toffoli is not worth a 1st without adding something. He did nothing tonight...for every good game he has, he has a nothing burger game.

Lombardi crapped the bed by trading young promising Cernak for rental Bishop because the Kings had no wish to sign him...just another of the many blunders by the GM late in the game...and so he deserved to be axed for some stupid ill-advised moves

What happened was the Kings wanted him to start in Ontario and work his way up ala Prokhorkin because they had too many contracts on the big team and way too many over-the-hill,unproductive players. No way Kubalik was going to the AHL...he belonged with Kopistar...period!

Where are your links? Because we've all given links to support our claims.

If you can't provide any evidence, or confirm with a mod you are a legitimate source, maybe further action needs to be taken for knowingly posting false rumors.

Who is “Pronman” and why do I care about his opinion?

He's just a well listened to reporter on hockey prospects. He is like the Bob Mackenzie of prospect rankings. In the end, prospects are like the stock market, you can get a good sense of them through a million different metrics and a lot of time they can predict what will happen a little bit, but at the end of the day, anyone of them can end up in any spot over the long haul.

Great reads! Thanks for posting them!

Anytime I read about Kaliyev, compete level always comes up or the lack of it. He seems to be doing okay.

I think you're messing with us all with that comment, but I'll play along. That sounds like an entitled , wanna be NHLer who thinks is the shit. No 7th round pick has that kind of leverage. Hell, most 1st rounder don't. Imagine a low round draft pick having to play his way into the NHL...the f-ing outrage . How dare any team do that!
