I know this would never happen but what if EDM put LD and McD on trade lock?
Remove all the NMC will never happen.
Which player would your team want and what is your offer?
Some teams I looked at were Ottawa,BUF.

I don’t think it would be worth it, you would gut your team.

Trading very good young players is a bad idea and in this case you are likely trading 2-3 of them.
 
If Edmonton trades Connor McDavid it's because Connor asked to be traded and will likely pick his destination or be very selected. In which case the return won't be nearly what some want it to be (It will still be very good).

Honestly I think its very hard to win with both, especially when you factor in both of their contracts soon. This and last year is/was their big chance with Leon's $8.7 or whatever he is making. After that to assemble a complete team around both is gonig to be hard.

But that being said, I did a case study in college on Arods $450M deal with the Rangers and we determined that even if they lose, its a good business move for all the monetary reasons for the franchise. This is what most owners will look at. You give the Oilers anything they ask for.

Also the reason why I think McDavid will go to a LA, NY, or TOR.

The package would be crazy even if he only chose 2-3 teams to go to.
 
The Oilers with mostly McDavid and Draisaitl carrying the roster have been able to achieve better results then many teams with much better depth. That is nothing to brag about since they don't have a Cup to show for it, but there are very little trades out there that would make the Oilers more successful trading McDavid and Draisaitl then keeping them.
