Lewis I agree with.
Brown has been good so far this year and I do not hold last night on him.
Forbort will take a few games to get up to speed.

Last night was really boring I will give ya that
Games against Minny and Columbus always suck ass!!

#1 pick are the following wave.
Add Fagemo and Clague to your next waves list..
Bjornfot and Anderson could possibly be ready next season, JAD looks like our future 3C/4C and Vilardi needs to finish this season and hopefully the playoffs healthy and productive before we even pencil him into a NHL roster.. Next season expect to see a lot of 1-2 year contracts for vets that will help guide the next generation of Kings, this rebuild is for the long haul

Clague will be a regular by February 24th.

Fagemo is a wildcard. Could wow at camp could need a year in the AHL. He isn’t a needed rush honestly. A lot will depend on camp. These kids need to start moving up and taking spots. The transition needs to start happening in full. In fact I forgot about Grundstrom who likely is already on the cusp.

Time for a new era. Kopi and Doughty are there to take some of the heavy lifting at least.

I hope we sign a couple of completely new vets on 1-2 year deals rather than extending any of our current vets. I also hate the idea of trading someone and bringing them back when they become a UFA. We need to break from the old team/culture. If a player isn’t part of the mid-long term plan then the sooner they go the better. The vets we bring in need to represent the new culture and identity they are hoping to build. So another Handzus equivalent or two on shorter deals, is ideal. I don’t actually care so much about talent level for such players, they just need to be good pro’s with the correct mindset. However we could struggle for room.

We could have several players NHL ready next season, but we will have to be very careful over how many we promote over the summer. We cannot throw too many in so we have to give as many guys as possible a taste of it. By blooding several guys this year, they properly know what’s coming next year. They will know how strong and fast they need to be, there only so much preparation they can do in the AHL. It’s why I think Vilardi needs 5 games minimum so he knows what he has to do over the summer. I’d like to see JAD get a few more games and Björnfot also. It will help them in their off season programs no end.

Fagemo could easily warrant stepping straight in next year, and the same could easily apply to our 1st rd pick this year. It could actually end up being quite a big problem as we could easily end up with a number of very unhappy young players that are NHL ready and missing out in a numbers game. It’ll need managing carefully and will go a long way to defining how successful Blake will be.

Two Kings are among Constance's 27 most likely to be traded in an The Athletic article:

2. Tyler Toffoli, Los Angeles Kings – One executive said the expected asking price on Toffoli is a second-round pick and a prospect, which might make Toffoli more appealing for teams cringing at the idea of moving a first for a rental. “(It) is pretty reasonable,” he said. “They’ll get it.” It’d be easy to see the Flames inquiring after missing out on Hall.

3. Alec Martinez, Los Angeles Kings – “His name is out there,” said an executive of the veteran defenseman. We’ve seen teams move away from rentals and shift preference to players with term at the deadline, which makes Martinez an attractive trade candidate. “He’s got another year left on his deal so he’d be ideal,” said one executive on a buying team.

I would hope if Blake is only getting a 2nd round pick for Toffoli that he is also getting a mid-level prospect that can at least help out the remainder of this season and maybe next in Ontario.

Didn't really like his rankings for many reasons, but the biggest one for me was Jenik jumping all the way to 7th, while Kaliyev is only at 16th. They are linemates who have similar PPG, while Kaliyev has has 9 more goals and has scored at this rate before.

I was somewhat bothered by this list until I noticed that Button threw it together. The same guy who criticized the Kings for trading Jack Johnson for Carter because he didn't think the Kings had enough good defensemen.

It's strange when you think about a group of professional athletes like we have with this Kings group who literally have not have had to hire a realtor in about a decade. The loyalty displayed to these guys will most likely never be seen again in the NHL.

Bob Mckenzie said as much as well during the Flyers-Caps intermission. Something like a 2nd or a prospect for Toffoli and a 2nd for Martinez but both could go up if a bidding war happens. Guess we need to start a who's scouting who thread.

interesting rumor in this link not sure if valid source so if not pleasure delete mods

NHLTR: Kings and Penguins talking huge trade including Matt Murray

Not a real strong source but there's been Pens-Kings smoke for a long time but I just can't really see the Pens doing that.

Essentially It's Toffoli, Lewis, Quick with some retention somewhere for Murray, Galchenyuk, and PO Joseph or Addison with the premise Pittsburgh wants to sign TT long term (makes sense). I could see it for us as a tryout for Galchenyuk and adding to the goaltending stable with Murray, Petersen, Campbell but I have no clue why Pitts does it really.

Thats a pretty fair trade. Murray on top of his game and Petersen would be an amazing duo. Adding in a prospect and seeing if galchenyuk can find some chemistry here is great also. Would be sad to see Quick go but he would do well there. I approve

It’s been mentioned that Rutherford is actively looking to do something so not surprised there are rumours out there. Interesting deal.

Galchenyuk simply has not fit in Pittsburgh.

I've always enjoyed reading which teams are scouting others. I picked this up today: from "my nhl trade rumors" Carolina's Senior VP Dudley caught Monday's Kings game, along with scouts from Tampa Bay and others:

Scouting the Los Angeles Kings and Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday

Dennis Bernstein
: Scouts listed to attend Monday’s Kings-Blue Jackets game: Regulars – Buffalo Sabres and the St. Louis Blues. Not Regulars – Colorado Avalanche (2), New Jersey Devils (2), Carolina Hurricanes (Senior VP Rick Dudley), Minnesota Wild, Vancouver Canucks, Tampa Bay Lightning, Montreal Canadiens, Arizona Coyotes, Winnipeg Jets, and the Calgary Flames.

Those teams listed (minus NJ, Zacha?) are in the playoff race.

How does taking Matt Murray make sense for LA at all. We get one year of him then we have to expose either him or petersen at the expansion. Surely the plan is for a quick/petersen combo next year with Quick being exposed and taken by seattle. We get rid of that contract without retention, part ways with a legend of the team in amicable fashion and we move on with petersen as #1.

Trading Toffoli for one year of Murray on a non contender doesnt make sense, youd rather the draft picks he could bring.

This isn't about getting Matt Murray. Its more about getting out of Quicks contract Also picking up a decent defense man prospect. The wild card of Galchenyuk would fit the age category we need to get more talent in.

I doubt you can assume Seattle takes him. He'll be 35 by then. Fleury was 32, going on 33, when Vegas got him. Plus the odds that Seattle will be as good as Vegas has been, but weren't supposed to be, are probably low.

We've hit the issue with any goalie trades though; it's likely the Kings have to take one back in the deal. Also, the Kings are going to retain on Quick until 2023, while also having to re-sign Murray this summer as a RFA?

With the cap, every deal has to be simplified. The more moving parts, the more unlikely it happens. Toffoli to Pittsburgh makes sense. It probably has to be kept there though. Toffoli for Galchenyuk + whatever pick/prospect, ok. That's easy. Start adding more names to come up with some sort of "blockbuster", and I'm not sure that rumor of a deal qualifies as one, and it's just too much.
