Fun fact, the Kings are winless since Forbort and Lewis returned to the lineup.

Hey, those are the facts. All six games Forbort has appeared in this season have been losses. It’s not all on him, he’s not THE problem, but he’s also not the solution either.
The team needs to move on from players like him and Lewis who don’t do anything particularly well. They just consume ice time that doesn’t result into anything.
You can sign UFA journeymen at half their price and they can provide just as much of an impact, which is very minimal if anything.

On the bright side the game coming out of the break is almost guaranteed to be a loss as well. Two more L’s in the tank column.

Forbort has been fine. Its not his job to score goals and create offense. Look elsewhere.

I think you should be right, but it feels like every year total bums get traded for something at the deadline so the Kings should be able to fetch atleast a lower pick for him. But yeah he has completely fallen off a cliff, crazy to think he had 14G in 68 games only two seasons ago, right now it looks like he's trying to play hockey with a golf club.

If anything, maybe Kovalchuk is doing us another favor, making teams realize that anyone they save from this dumpster fire will be more productive elsewhere, further raising TDL value
Studies have shown there is virtually no diff between a 4th and 7th round pick. Any pick at all is a plus, can't see the kings re-signing him so at worst we lose a late round pick.

The issue with Forbort is his lack of puck moving ability affects the Kings throughout the lineup. The old days of hiding a Greene/Scuderi and pairing them off with a puck mover are gone, other teams know how to key in on a guy who can't move the puck. The Kings have a 2.44 on ice shooting percentage with Forbort, 66% lower than their already second worst team average on ice shooting percentage. Some may argue that he has just been unlucky, but I personally believe that talent plays a role in that stat and his lack of offensive skill is the reason. This wouldn't be a problem if he was a bottom pairing guy who pinched in with PK minutes, but he is playing with Doughty and the top line.

I’m not expecting offense from him, but he’s not some defensive dynamo that warrants a contract extension either.

He's going to retire a King, and then he's going to get a statue outside Staples. Probably of him shooting the puck off the glass.
I don't think he's the problem by any stretch, he's an ok 3rd pairing defender, I just find it amazing how he's been in the organization so long when so many others from his draft class have been moved.

He's really on a tear, scored another goal tonight. Seems like the Habs are a good fit so far.
