That is the teams shooting percentage when he is on the ice, not his personal shooting percentage. That number being so low is a concern because he plays with players who are expected to produce and he is dragging them down.
Right, and that's why TM paired him with DD on the top pair tonight. Obviously, TM should be fired.
I don't think TM should be fired just because I don't personally like this lineup decision. It is well known that Doughty likes playing with Forbort despite the pairing being a significant drag on Doughty, we also may be trying to showcase Forbort for the deadline. Forbort has some flaws and they are not easily hid when he is playing top pairing minutes, not sure what else to say to you.

16 of Doughty’s 60 points that season came when he was on the ice with Forbort. I think that’s mostly because of Doughty and not Forbort and his 18 points that season.
I'll assume you are correct. Did I mention that the kings also had the best defense and pk in the entire league with DF paired with DD?
Go look at Doughty's WOWY numbers with Forbort. He takes a massive hit across the board.

A lot went right for the team that season, until the playoffs, and it’s all been downhill since then. Look at how many Kings had career years in 2017-18 fresh off of the Sutter/Lombardi firing. Yet somehow, the only players from that team to show any improvement since that season are Alex Iafallo and Kyle Clifford.

I don't get the obsession this place has with Forbort. True he's completely unspectacular, but he's hardly the problem with this team, or even the Dcore.

He’s simply a symbol for Kings hockey: boring.
The Kings had a top defense and PK for the better part of the decade before Forbort even arrived.

The Roadie started well, got worse after the Tampa game. A slightly better team would've won a few more. Didn't they light up Elliott in the last meeting?

What does that mean?
Over the 3 year period prior to Forbort joining the Kings they gave up the 2nd fewest goals in the league. Defense was not a Kings issue until last season.

I keep hoping for a miracle Red Wings losing streak, but I don't even know if I want that. The most Kings thing ever would be to finish dead last and lose the lottery.

Anyways, I think we got lost. My gripe with Forbort is his lack of puck moving ability combined with him being deployed on the top pairing. I believe it affects the teams ability to produce offensively and the number back that notion up. I think he is a decent defensive defenseman with a long reach that can provide value on the bottom pair and playing PK minutes. He makes noticeable errors in his current deployment that cause people, including myself, to make comments in the gameday threads.
