My guess is the BJs will take him, because they're about to be gutted. BK's offer call (2nd or 3rd) looks spot on.

one thing to keep in mind is that cbj basically traded away their entire draft already, so if they moved a 3rd for Anisimov they would have only a 7th round pick to make this year, and next year its sort of a similar situation.

It would depend on what they're trying to do. If they're trying catch lightning in a bottle and win one more Cup, it makes more sense to move AA now to free up cap. If they've given up on the remainder of 19/88, then I don't know why they're not moving them.

I don’t think it’s that black and white. Like Bowman said, the plan is to be elite by the season after next. There is still some runway left to gather talent and picks in preparation for that season.

DETAILS
Roster Size: 23
Salary Cap: $83,000,000
Cap Hit: $69,430,128
Cap Space: $13,569,872

put together this team with projected cap hits from evolving wild on twitter...seems realistic... sent aa to columbus for a 2020 4th and milano since they have no higher picks...anisimov to nelson seems like a lateralish move but they would acquire some assets and probably the better player, but extra 2 years of term might not be ideal if Nelson reverts back to a 40 pt center...thoughts on potential of team?

Didn't know that, thanks. Is Milano any good? I know he was a pretty highly regarded prospect at one point. Reclamation project?

Neither of those are realistic

Nelson is going to get more then 4.55M and if that is all it costs him the Isles would have already locked him up

And Perlini is not worth anything close to 2M

They’re not my predicted cap hits, they’re evolving wild predictions.

ya nelson will fetch 5.8 if not 6.0, both of which I am fine with

I wouldn’t touch Nelson at 6 per. His numbers are similar to Anisimov who will be cheaper and have less term. Rather keep him instead if thats the number Nelson wants...

Right. IMO, this offseason is about getting deals on contracts. If someone wants to sign here on a good deal at F, D, or G, the Hawks should jump on that. Overpays, let some other team have them.

depends on the term

Nelson is a great fit for our club but there are other options, cheaper and faster

If Anisimov is on our roster it needs to be with Kane

Former 1st round pick and still relatively young, but more of a lottery ticket at this point.

you normally will have to over pay at the UFA market, but this year seems a bit different with the amount of players available. many are definitely going to cash in, but guys like Nelson and Dzingel might be sneaky good signings at lower than expected price tags..

Dzingel had a similar price tag in that spresdsheet and given he was inconsistent for CBJ there could def be a scenario where he could be had for closer to that number and Nelson might go for closer to 5.5-6...Dzingel at 4-4.5m could be an attractive depth piece if he’s a 50 point winger.

I wonder how much Dzingel is going to get and how good he actually is. He was a flop in the playoffs so that will bring his price down, but what is his true talent level?

I would also love to get Nelson for the right price.

not sure what his worth would be, but I doubt he is going to break the bank here..he has been a consistent player over his career so a team like us could bring him in to play a 2nd/3rd line role where he could feast - anything under $5mil per and I would be interested in him..his speed would fit in nicely on a line with Strome and Cat..

Caggiula-Toews-Kane
DeBrincat-Strome-Dzingel
Saad-Anisimov-Sikura
Kubalik-Kampf-Kahun
Perlini

That forward group will be able to match up with most teams

and I only say that because Caggiula we know can play a bottom 6 role successfully, a guy like Kubalik deserves a shot at a top 6 role, though I believe he can play a 4th line role, I think he can feast in a top line role more so than Caggiula could IMO.

My thought process was let Kubalik get some games in to start the year with players he’s familiar with and then adjust from there...and Caggiula played some good hockey with Toews and Kane...
