Caggiula*(15/20) - Toews (30/40) - Kane (40/50)
Cat (40/40) - Strome (20/45) - Frolik* (20/15)
Saad (20/20) - Anisimov (20/15) - Kubalik (15/15)*
Perlini* (15/10) - Kampf (10/10) - Kahun (15/15)*
Kuhnhackl*

Keith (2/35) - Jokiharju (5/30)
Kylington* (5/20) - Murphy (5/10)
Gustafsson (10/40) - Seabrook (5/20)
Dahlstrom

Crawford
Delia

Frolik would help overall team defense, and especially the penalty kill. Can play that top 6 complementary role, or move up and down with Kahun, Perlini, Kubalik, Saad, etc.

Kylington, I've always been high on. I think he can be a poor mans Keith. Kid has the athleticism to log 25+ mins a game, such a great skater.

Kuhnhackl would be great bottom 6 depth, if Kubalik doesn't pan out, or Perlini is moved.

Not the BIG changes everyone here is wanting, but what I saw under JC is a lethal offense, good PP, just lacking some TWFs upfront, and we could use a legit smooth skating LD defender.

Just spit balling ... any chance the Islanders would trade Andrew Ladd for Brent Seabrook? They both need a change of scenery. Seabrook's contract is a year longer and a million dollars more than Ladd, but Ladd is coming off of an ACL injury. New York / Long Island isn't a bad place to move for the Seabrook family. Ladd's wife is familiar with Chicago.

Seabrook might do better in Trotz's system and the Hawks can use a bottom 6 forward.

It's just a thought.

I can't see Seabs or more likely Seab's wife being ok uprooting the kids and home to move to Long Island.
Maybe .. to Vancouver or Seattle .. maybe ... but probably not. If at all possible than it would be for Eriksson and we would need to sweeten the deal with Forsling or ?

Its crazy. I really wish the next cha lowers rfa offersheet prices and opens up it to not being so avoided.

Marner’s prime years are more valuable than the picks and Panarin. I’d love to see an offersheet happen. It probably has to be really expensive to prevent Toronto from matching though. Probably 13M. Even then, they’d probably match.

They’ll be back on the Shanaplan if they match a 13mil per offersheet

Except they will be late 1sts and we have a pipeline full of high end prospects. If we are talking top 10 picks sure but when you are picking 25 or later it falls off.

Late firsts ? Impossible to predict whether they will be 12-30 over 4 years.

Also, Panarin is no slouch. He can impact the game .

Never said Panarin is a slouch but Panarin would not be in his prime the whole deal (last two years imo) and Marner is already a better player offensively and far far better defensively.

Adding Marner I am willing to bet this team would pick no sooner that 22 each of the 4 years.

Marner would be great but paying him 11 M would most likely effect the deals DeBrincat and Strome get meaning even more money going out. The 4 1st’s are also a bigger factor in my eyes. They could be in order 15/16, an 18/19, a 20/21 and a 25+ pick. I would say two of those picks could be top six players. Just not worth it really.

I may be jailed for blasphemy here, but if I were forced to choose between Marner and Strome or DeBrincat, I'm choosing Marner.

Marner is arguably better offensively than both, and inarguably better defensively.

Marner would be the Hossa of the next wave, and DeBrincat would be the Sharp (and that's if DeBrincat continues improving his defense).

Also, a top-six player could simply mean a 40ish point guy. Is that really more valuable than a 21-year-old who already looks like a beast?

The Hawks can do 13M in the short term moreso than the Leafs. Long term, we have to commit to going cheap in net. So let Crawford walk and use Delia and another cheap goalie until Gravel or another prospect arrives. It’s definitely doable.

If it goes to 13 million I think you're losing one of Strome or DeBrincat (not both), but you wouldn't be losing them for nothing. Plus you'd get to make a run with all of them this upcoming season.

That said, pulling out one young guy who needs to be sheltered and replacing him with a young guy who can play in all three zones against the hardest matchups helps this team.

Even if we spend 2-3M on the goaltending position until Seabrook is gone?

If it played out as you outlined it, I guess I’d still do it to make that big run then trade Strome for a haul. They could get Strome to PPG next year with all of that talent around him. Then trade him for a haul and roll with Marner and Cat as the new core forwards.

That's what I'd do, I'm sure that's a controversial opinion though.

I just think it's much more important to have a two-way winger like Marner than a center like Strome that you need to shelter.

I'd prefer to keep DeBrincat over Strome as well, if that's what it came down to.

Offer sheeting Marner is silly. It would take crazy money to get him to sign, and the only players worth 4 1sts are Crosby, McDavid, Ovechkin, and Prime Malkin/Karlsson players. Besides, you could use the money you'd be paying Marner for high quality depth and roster flexibility instead.

If we’re talking 4 mid to late 1sts...
