For everyone who is saying this game was reffed horribly, you are wrong. All of Sweden's penalties were penalties. They missed a bad one when Timmins hooked Petterson. Other than that, anything that was missed was questionable calls both ways.
We all don't want make up calls to ruin games. This time they don't, and we bash them?

You have to manage an elimination game better than this as referees. Some of those 50/50 calls should have gone in Sweden's favor to balance the penalty count.

I'm certain if Canada was on the receiving end, we'd be ticked off.

I'll give you the point on the refs. Truth be told, if we were on the wrong end of a 6-1 penalty imbalance... and had a player get a broken stick down 2-1 that resulted in the 3-1 goal.... we'd be very upset.

At the same time, the penalties didn't lose the game. You killed them. You didn't score 5v5.

That's the difference.

All Swedish penalties were legit but there were a couple of missed calls on Canada for sure. To all the whiners let's remember Canada didn't score on the PP. And don't forget the quick whistle which negated a Canada goal.

I'm not defending the kid's actions; I'm saying poor sportsmanship doesn't disqualify someone from playing in the NHL.

I’m not saying he would be disqualified, but the NHL is so competitive today. The difference between a 2nd, 3rd and 4th rounders today isn’t huge. If a kid can’t handle adversity, I would bet against him making it.

Can you imagine someone tossing the Stanley Cup into the crowd if they lost? It was a very poor action and showed a ton of poor taste on his part. I think it’s an embarrassment to everyone who plays the game.

I'm sure you would've been just a gracious if you lost that game and the penalties would've been the other way around, while you outworked the other team. But I highly doubt it. Wont ever watch another wjc in USA/can. Sweden by far the better team and in my eyes we won the gold this year, don't care what you say. Reffing in this and USA game was absolutely ridiculously bad. Never seen anything like it in hockey. Hope you're happy for a win like this. Useless.

You should never watch another one again if this is how you handle losing. You were not "by far the better team" they were pretty equal and one was a lot more disciplined. Take your puck, go home and cry more.
