Shootouts suck, but as long as they're in the rules, they're part of the game, so whining about them isn't an intelligent argument.

This is especially sweet after all the Canadians talking **** after the USA's loss last night.

Your boys just got beat by a team that lost to Slovakia less than 24 hours ago after you took a 2 goal lead twice this game. Hows it feel now Canada?
It feels like we lost a gimmick game by a gimmick tiebreaker and likely finished 1st in the division.

Doesn't feel that bad. The U.S. loss last night hurt them more than the Can loss today.

RIP Fugu ϶(°o°)ϵ
You know what I got from this game?

United States is better than us.... at shootouts.
Unfortunately that's something of a recent trend, and it kind of matters if Canada isn't putting the game away before it comes to shootouts.

Canada won't be happy about blowing 2-0 ad 3-1 leads, but they should feel fairly comfortable about where they are positioned in the tourney. Getting this small monkey off their back would have been nice for them, but it's not the end of the world that it didn't happen.

 ok you got me. To date that is my favourite shootout. Young Toews was awesome.

So correction, I hate when my team loses in the shootout. I do still prefer when games end 5 on 5. Absolutely love 5 on 5 OT in the finals.

Don't know how to embed on this new site, but here's a personal favourite of mine

Canada has the best players in the sport. You are supposed to win every single time, yet you don't.

When was the last time USA beat canada in a major tournament like Olympics or World cup?

I'm sure they didn't mind winning in the shootout when it was Toews out there winning it for them.

I didn't like the quality of the game, but I liked that the US team didn't quit when they were down by 2. They overlooked Slovakia and paid for it. I'm confident they can beat any team in the tournament if they put in their best. It just remains to be seen if they can.
