I'm being serious, you really think he's going to memorize shootout percentages (for guys he doesn't even coach regularly) when he's trying to win in regulation? I'm sure he was playing to win. Also shootout percentages mean jack shit, it's all luck

Half the defense is the same as last year when they had to play Chabot every other shift because everyone else was getting run over.

Ducharme is not playing Makar, it must be in deference to his returning "favorites".

This Canadian team sucks and the WJC hasn't been enjoyable to watch for years now. It's more and more just about TSN recycling the same storylines, selling us on how much Carter Hart has ice water in his veins like Carey Price, blah blah blah, meanwhile the Canadian system is just running out of elite talent. High end production, declining actual product. Not mad, just detached and disengaged.

Regardless of who won and lost..I hope this is the last of this gimmick at this tournament. Conditions killed the flow of the game throughout. Gimmick ended the gimmick game which I suppose is fitting

This just makes it fair for other countries to have a chance at Gold, if we sent our best team it woulda been a cake walk like usual.

Finland vs Czech Republic

and

USA vs Russia
Sweden vs Slovakia

Canada should get into the finals comfortably.
USA will have to beat Russia, then Sweden, then Canada in order to win this tournament.

They can do it but the States really f***ed up by not beating Slovakia. Their road is now very difficult.

In men’s ice hockey? Doubt anyone in Canada will be watching, same goes for the States I’m sure

USA was the better team here but it’s tough to gauge off a game like this. Hope to see a rematch in the medal round

ok you got me. To date that is my favourite shootout. Young Toews was awesome.

So correction, I hate when my team loses in the shootout. I do still prefer when games end 5 on 5. Absolutely love 5 on 5 OT in the finals.

Firstly, the US deserves a lot of credit, they never gave up and they earned this victory 100%.

Any complaints about the conditions are not relevant IMO, seeing as the US had to play under the same conditions.

That being said, Canada needs need to stop taking so many penalties. This seems to be an issue for the team every year. Lots of lazy, unnecessary penalties due to lack of discipline. They even got away with some stuff that could've been easily called a penalty.

Carter Hart wasn't a problem per se, but with how much TSN keeps worshiping him, you'd expect a better performance from him.

There it is. Definitely undisciplined, repeatedly.
