I have no problem coming to grips with Canada losing. I only got to see OT and on so I don't know who really was the better team, but it was just as likely Team USA as it was Canada. I wish we would have own but it's only a prelim game, losing one in this tournament is not a death sentence. And the fact that it went to OT is what was important for us in terms of group play.
My only mission is to point out your hypocrisy about whining about how the game shouldn't count when Canada was up 2 goals at two different points. USA comes back and ultimately wins, and you pretend you never even tried to build in the excuses for a possible Team USA loss early. It's pretty pathetic but not overly surprising.
Hoping these two teams meet again under better conditions in the medal or playoff round, but both teams played under the same circumstances and the outcome is fair no matter what.
So either admit your hypocrisy or continue to pretend it didn't happen, but don't accuse me of whining. I have no issue with the outcome of the game other than I wish it worked out better for my team.
For what it's worth, I thought the US was slightly better at even strength in the 1st, but Canada was better on special teams by a greater margin. The 2nd period was Canada. 3rd was the US.
It was a sloppily played game that didn't really showcase either team's skill or ability.
