Meh, a loss is a loss. Maybe things will change in the medal round, if not I don't think the Americans give a crap about how they beat Canada. You can bet the Canadian forwards don't feel like it's any less of a loss either.

Shootouts are the worst way to finish a game but yet the IIHF continues to implement them even in the medal rounds. I could probably live with shootouts in the preliminary round but after that is just bullshit

As a Canucks fan, the two guys I have my eyes on are Tkachuk and Hughes (outside the top 3). Didn't catch the game... how did those two do?

Also now that i think about Ducharme's shootout strategy/the players he sent out. Maybe a bit of gamesmanship to not let Ottinger see what he'll face in a potential medal game.

Hmmm...

Brady had a great game, he scored and nice feed from Casey M. as well I saw the full game since Rangers play in about 30 min. :)

RIP Fugu ϶(°o°)ϵ
Good for them. Should be a good matchup in the quarters for them
I just enjoy watching youth hockey. Two good groups of kids went out and competed hard in less than ideal conditions. Both teams were rewarded with something positive to take away from the experience...Canada with sowing up the group and the medal round advantages that will confer, and the USA with a moral victory that might help get their tournament back on track after a nasty stumble.

The viewing (and probably playing) experience itself wasn't great, but I think this was a good day for youth hockey...particularly those kids who participated in the game.

I get that things would be boring in here if everyone was just 100% polite and chirping is chirping, but god some of you need to check yourselves - this thread is embarrassing. Congrats to the USA for the comeback win. I think most of us agree that we'd rather not have played in these conditions and we'd like to see how things play out indoors, but the better team won today. Hope there's a rematch, but can we get a big boys thread and a kids' table thread for when that happens, please?

World Juniors, on when we can all watch, with our "best" team there?

We sure care alot more than sending a bunch of canadians from mixed leagues all over the world instead of being able to send our team from the NHL, completely different.

Well your buddies here sure seem sour after watching a bunch of 18 year olds play hockey. But I'm sure they won't cry about the Olympics at all.

One is a best on best tournament, the other wont be cause the NHL's non participation.

Don't know what I can do to explain it much better than that.
