Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. Yes yes, I heard it p, thats it surprised me he is 7th D, but thats obviously because of adaptation.
Lets look at it from positive side. In case it goes well - Kubalik, Sklenicka, Nestrasil, Plekanec will get NHL contracts and Necas, Chytil, Hyka, Hronek all make rosters next season and Kaut will get his 9 games. That means 9 possible NHLers

I like your optimism. I'm thinking 4 of 9... Maybe.
I don't know much about sklenicka... What is his story?
I dont know much, promising progressive D. Ie somebody from nowhere who Straka shaped to upperaverage league D. Should be better imo considering he played some Euro hockey tour matches. Typical product of our lottery system. Nondrafted, drilled by club/national team to possible NHL entry level contract. Sidlik is for example guy who didn’t pass this lottery.
IIRC Sklenicka finished 2nd in 2016 voting of the best Extraliga rookie (Lakatos was 1st?) So he's been a full-time Extraliga D since he was 19. I've been to like 80% of Plzeň games over the past 3 years so i hope i can make a solid judgement. What really stands out to me are his athletic skills and puckhandling, he skates really well and he's not afraid of carrying the puck. On the other hand his hockey sense isn't the greatest so he has to play a simple game, especially at this level.
It was evident at the Carlson/Swedish games that almost everytime he tried to think the game too much he made a bad decision. I was suprised Jandač was using him on a PP while in Plzeň Sklenička hasn't been used there at all. This year though he was the best penalty killer in Plzeň, he made superb defensive plays many times on a PK.
I think his great wheels, puckhandling and decent shooting abilities might be interesting for NHL teams, the kid's still pretty young.

I won't lie... Getting nervous. 3 more hours. I think the team will have a very uneven round robin with some tremendously good moments and some really bad ones. I assume we start Rittich tomorrow which would make sense since the NHL stats have shown goalies tend to suck on back to back games (even the best ones). I'm sure jandac will tinker a lot with the lines throughout tournament... I just hope he doesn't panic Everytime a rookie makes a mistake (because they will) and replace them with veterans that wouldn't make the mistake (because those guys have no offensive upside and scoring has been a huge quarterfinal problem for us). I don't want to hit quarters wondering where the goal scoring is coming from while looking at four 'soccer lines'.

The 3rd was much better. Total domination in OT. So happy for Necas, he was invisible in the first 2 periods but man that tying goal ..

Gudas has a great shot... really good. I'm willing to bet one of the harder (not better) shots in the NHL. He is also a Corsi monster. He makes things happen. I don't mind him on the powerplay at all. Just pair him with Sulak or Hronek. Ideally though, we'd have a forward back there like Plekanec.

I've never been a Sulak or Zacha fan... maybe the only 2 Czech players I cringe about (and poor Jakub Stapanek who seemed like the nicest man but just not a guy who you do not put in net for a World Championship) but Sulak was really good!
Can we change #prayforPastrnak to #prayforNecas? Holy god I hope he is okay... that crash could haunt him all summer! Maybe Jandac will learn that a guy like Necas can score that goal and Stastny and Kousal cannot and give Chytil and Kaut more time. The idea being to surround your rookies who will make mistakes with veterans that won't. I really want to see Plekanec with Necas, Kaut or Chytil.
I think it was good start. We played good, just didn't give our chances. Guys were nervous from start and it take some time to get everything work, they are young after all. But they were fighting for it and that's most important for me. The 3rd period and OT was dominant from us, 15-4 shots in third. Now we take some self-confidence and be better next game.

I agree. Šulák - Gudas pair could work very well. And it was first game for Gudas at big ice, he will be better next game.
About Hronek. He made some miskates and this was not game when you can risk. He just need to adapt to WHC level and he will surely get the chance later.
So is Kaut basically in a "reserve" role at his point and waiting to see if more NHLers can be added (after the 2nd round)?

Yeah, Šulák played a very good game, offensively and defensively. Plekanec was outstanding at the faceoff circle, his technique is a thing of a beauty. Kubalík, Jaškin and Necas, we'll have a lot of fun here in CPH with these guys.

So Nečas will not play vs Sweden. He have injured shoulder and hip, fortunately no concussion. We are playing with 11 forwards today, Rittich in net.
Yeh, he is sitting in the press box posting twitter messages. Definetely strange thing on this generation.
