I really enjoyed this game actually. Shame we had such a bad start, there was just too much of a respect, I guess.
Great to see young czech players keeping it up with very strong Swedes. Love how they work hard. It's much more entertaining than with the usual past WHC squads of ours.

Overall it was solid performance with mistakes but also some promising things.

So that's 67 shots on goal and 5 goals so far. Another tournament, another Czech team struggling to score.
Hronek proved he is much better PP quarterback than Gudas. Hronek and Sulak are the only Ds capable of playing PP. Them being available was truly a godsend.
I would like to see Hronek get more even strenght ice time. Moravcik's time should be reduced, he is painful to watch. Wish we had gotten Simek to replace him.

Yeah, but that is imo because we dont have "big" players like Malkin etc. We have just Pastrnak. Until we start developing these guys, thats not gonna change much. Its about head on this level imo, you have to find way how to do smth extraordinary. We have to rely upon team here. Lot of positives about Sulak but his shots from blue line missed the net or hit the player. Lot of our guys are not elite players unfortunately. Thats how it is.

100% agree. Opponents dont get it for free for sure plus its chance to make one more step in development for lot of guys.

It is Krejčík. I don't think they are waiting for Kempný or Jeřábek.

I really like this team. It was even match after the first 8 minutes, we played with great speed and toughness. Nice to see Hronek score, he reminded me of Židlický in the pp. Also as was stated Šulák played very good game, same with Hyka. Interesting all of our 5 scorers give their first goal at WHC.

Also agree what was said about Červenka. This is one of the reasons why I coming rather here, then on Czech websites. You should have some respect for the player who played 150 games and has 90 points in NT. And especially when he has 14 points from last 18 WHC games. Really underrated player in Czech Republic.

His biggest issue is his scoring efficiency on good scoring chances, I think. That's why he annoys so many people.

I'm positive about this team. I looked at the czech website´s discussions and people do not understand that Hertl simply will not come to WC in present situation. Let's write Kaut and let the young guys play. This year's overall team placement isn´t the most important thing

I guess with Cervenka its about his reputation from first half of this decade when he was supposed to be one of the best euro players and it followed demands (maybe unrealistic) from fans which he never fulfiled and disappeared especially against canadian teams. But he established his position and is clearly important part of the team.

What I noticed from majority part of “ordinary” czech fans that they are always +- several years late in evaluation. Most of them still claimed we were superpower in 2012. 4 years later they might be shocked about Cervenka not being part of the team when ha had such a good seasons around 2018 etc.)

Sulak is still very sketchy player imo but he makes progress every year. With good development and mentoring he might be very good imo. I am always afraid when he doesnt need to skate and stays around the net, once he is on the move its quite entertaining to watch him

I agree with you.
Just saying that this "not always capitalazing in important moments" might be the problem. I must admit that sometimes I have been a bit annoyed of this either but usually the fans are overreacting way too much and yes, he doesn't deserve this kind of hate. And as Jablkon said - it's also about the reputation from his beginnings in NT (people felt he was always favored by Ruzicka iirc) and the fans just keep on with picking on him.. of course you always need to find a victim, right ?

And needed to be add that there is literally no one who is better than Cervenka and should replace him in the team. These people probably live in bubble that czech hockey is on level which it lost 10 years ago. Who should be there? Jarusek, Lev, Lenc, Vondrka, Klepis instead of ppg from swiss league?

Only guy who I thought should get a chance is Lukas Pech. He had good seasons in Sparta but never even jumped to Euro hockey tour. Maybe his decision making is slow, but he always looked like a good skater with good hands doing lot of small things right. Just discussing here, fore sure he shouldn't replace Cervenka or smth like this.

Hronek was very good. Should have had 1+1 but for some reason didn’t get awarded the assist on the 2nd goal.

Yes, totally agree with that! He's really all over the ice, taking good decisions both offensively and defensively.
Sulak's line mate Polasek did convince me as well today. As did Hronek.

And now Hertl free too. Any of the three would help us. Realistically Pastrňák with biggest chance and the last place on roster would probably take Hanzl. It will be difficult for Kaut and Šťastný now.
