I'm glad you've put a timer on him except that we're really only going to know how well he's drafted, 2-3 years from now. Are we really going to wait that long to find out if he's gotten it right?

The better barometer on the short term will be how he manages his trades, UFA signings if any and the Cap in the next year. And whether he's traded away any futures for a short term run, which would be completely insane.

I’m not waiting x amount of years to see, I want him to aquire legit centres, not A centre but CENTRES with an S.

I want creative thinking, savvyness, I want top end centre prospects, I want solid LHD in our pool of prospects.

I want to see a vet or two traded for top 2 round draft picks.

If I just see safe moves with thunder that barely moves the needle, I’m done!!

Where do you guys rank Berggren skating in this year draft?

I think he's top 10-15 in the class skating wise. Impeccable edge work, only takes a few strides to hit top speed, very agile too in terms of quick turns and changes of direction.

Got the 1 month svenshockeytv pass last week and been watching Berggren's (and Albin) last couple season games + playoffs. He's awesome.

Top speed and acceleration are both good. Bit more power in the legs should give him some added separation speed. But where his skating shines is his ability to change direction both on the rush and on the cycle - which makes him unpredictable and tough to defend. He's not Hughes/Foudy fast but still among the better skaters of the class.

I'd purposely make shitty moves just so I can come here and laugh my ass off. For every minor trade I make, I will say that it took months to complete.

While I think TGS may be a capable GM, I did successfully lead the Canadiens to 4 straight Stanley Cups after a 2-year rebuild on my Xbox.

Maybe that is MB’s problem. He uses the PlayStation.

Great lists, thanks for sharing it ! There's 2 McShane in the first list (67 and 82). And who are the guys you have far lower than everybody (those not on list). I can think of Groulx, Merkley, McIsaac, but other than that ? Nice and bold to see Berggren at 11, we would be SO lucky if we could grab him early 2nd round or even trade up to get him late 1st !

There was another duplicate: Pekar at 77. B-O Groulx, Joe Veleno, Jack McBain, a bunch of USHL guys (curtis hall, for example), Gabriel Fortier. I updated the list to remove the duplicates in my prospect board thread.

Who are the three players you feel you ranked low(er) and might bite you in the ass ?

Mine would be:
1. Hughes (but like Tkachuk, I actually like quite a bit and have him in "the" top 11).
2. Bouchard
3. Kupari (not because I see high upside, more that I think he's a good bet to be at least an NHL RW, while many I ranked ahead will bust). Im adding him because Ive been rewatching finland specifically for him + Kotka (whos just so good). I might bump him up a few spots for my last edit.

Cautiously optimistic.

Bergevin still has carte blanche, yet is desperate and has been a disaster when not pressed. I'm setting my bar fairly low, as in I wouldnt be surprised if our first three picks were trades for quick fixes.

You will be fine. Draft will probably start at like 8:15 anyways because there is always some bs at first and it takes forever.

NOT Bouchard. I don’t think his game is going to translate as well as people think to the NHL He's not going to be able to lug the puck around nearly as much as he does now.

It wouldn’t surprise me at all if one day Kravtsov is seen as the third best player from this draft.

Dobson and Boqvist are my other 2.
