Who need defence with Bergevin anyway......

Dang... would be crazy good ! :amazed:

I dunno m8, I actually see a decent amount of offensive upside in Morozov. Wingers, especially russian wingers, are always going to look more spectacular at this stage. There's a lot of swooping around without the puck as a center, and junior centers almost always look a bit worse than their winger counterparts. I don't have an explanation for this, but it seems to be true of every center that I've watched this year. It's just a harder position to look useful in, I guess.

I think where I jumped the gun is that I posted without really defining what were his expectations and what more upside than expected meant in terms of his top end. Because, I think we probably all see him about the same way, which is someone who you can legitimately play in every situations and can move up in an offensive role if needed, because he's one of the better centers at using his wingers and while there's no stand out skill, there's no skill he's actually bad at. He'd be a solid pick.

But true enough about the centers though, but I interpreted it more in the way that there's not much in terms of potential top 6 centers, Kotkaniemi aside (and Thomas as a potential 2nd line C). It's a hard position to develop into for anyone without the high end skill and those are usually gone by the middle of the first.

He just doesnt have the offensive game Id want. Looking around the top 50 theres a lot more offensive potential going around.

What don't you like? He scored against men. He has excellent hands in tight. He makes plays in traffic. He can score in the NHL areas but he also doesn't have Gallagher tunnel vision of jamming the puck at a goalies pads, he also makes passes around the net that lead to goals. He has a shot that can beat the goalie from the rush.

If you expect him to produce more than Gallagher youre gonna have a baaaaad time.

Dalleandrea is such a smart harworking 2-way center, Im really falling in love here.. I would be willing to give up one of our late 2nds to move up for this kid...

Stanley Cup ? The problem is as the poster you respondws to said, MB is gunning just to make the post season so that he keeps his job, because that is the goal as set by Molson.

Our only salvation is if MB is offered a young C who could help now and in future. Rumour was MB wanted Trochek from Florida which is a ridiculous ask. The target should have been Borgstrom.

My worry is MB turns down a Borgstrom type player because he doesnt think tjat player will help enough to get us post season and therefore help him keep his job. So MB then settles on a help now older but not particularly high ceiling player.

If thats what happens it is Molsons fault for setting up a scenario wherby MBs self interest is at odds with that of the teams best interest.

The problem with trading Capt. Max the perennial 30-40 goal scorer in an attempt to win a SC is just plain asinine. If he's moved it has to be for the future, which is obviously the way the Habs have to be headed not beheaded? If Tavares signed with the Habs then Max has to be kept here, 50 goal season a very high possibility with Tavares setting him up. IMHO. With Dahlin as our 1st pick that SCC could very well be a possibility, Poehling & Evans having great rookie seasons, in other words all chips falling in the Habs favor.

A few braincramps aside, I'm liking K'Bustdre quite a bit since the start of the tourney. Big progression this year.
